Join us for a lovely Sunday afternoon full of music, food, tours and good times as we celebrate Kinstone with all of you. Do you need directions? Find detailed directions here: DIRECTIONS TO KINSTONE.
The Open House is from NOON to 5:00pm. The Equinox Observance starts at 7:00pm. The grounds will be open in between these events for anyone that wishes to stay and enjoy additional self-guided time at Kinstone. The labyrinth, chapel, stone circle and other features will be open and available for exploration throughout the day. The KINSTONE KITCHEN food truck will be operating from Noon until Sunset – so plan to get a great meal (or two!) for lunch and/or dinner. If you can’t make it to the event, consider stopping by to pick up some great food to take away!
Here’s the schedule for the day:
Noon: Gates open; FOOD TRUCK open for business!
Noon – 3pm: Live Music by The Bus Boys (on the Porch)
12:30: Group Labyrinth Walk (meet at the Labyrinth at 12:25!)
1:00: Guided Tour #1 (meet at the Three Witnesses Sculpture at 1:00)
3:00-5:00: Live Music by Cliff Martin & Helen Forsythe (on the Porch)
4:00: Guided Tour #2 (meet at the Three Witnesses Sculpture at 4:00)
5:00: Live music ends
5:00 – 7:00pm the grounds will remain open for self-guided exploration and the Kinstone Kitchen will be open too! Enjoy a meal while you wait for our sunset equinox observance. 🙂
7:00: Equinox Observance (meet in the large stone circle at 7pm; if it’s raining then meet in the main Education Centr building)
Just after Sunset: Gates close; FOOD TUCK closes
Festivities start at Noon and go until about 5pm. Food will be available from Kinstone Kitchen, our mobile food truck. Live music will begin at NOON. From Noon to 3pm it will be provided by The Bus Boys. From 3pm to 5pm we will feature Cliff Martin & Helen Forsythe again – a favorite duo we have featured at all of our open houses so far!
For those interested in returning for our evening festivities, we will be also observing the Equinox Alignment between Lancelot and Atlas as the sun sets. We’ll begin this observance at 7pm. If the sun is shining out from the horizon just prior to sunset we will observe the alignment that allows us to “catch the sun” as it appears through the stone known as Lancelot. If it is cloudy or raining, we will still gather to acknowledge the changing of the season. Please join us at the large stone circle at 7pm. Weather permitting, will then proceed to the location of the alignment and observe the phenomenon until after the sun sets. If it is rainy or very overcast such that the sunset alignment is not visible, we will gather in the Education Center building instead.
