Come learn cordwood by getting your hands on a working project! We will be working on the in-progress Cordwood Kiosk at Kinstone. If all goes well, we will finish the walls during this weekend course. We will be continuing work from last year. There are windows and doors to be installed. Perfect for learning! Plus, there will be plenty of bottle-ends to experiment with and place into the wall in creative designs.
Learn how to build your own home, cottage or cabin with dry wood and mortar. Its economical, energy efficient, environmentally friendly, green, and visually attractive! We will be participating in classroom sessions including general cordwood information, powerpoint presentations, and discussions of the various styles of cordwood houses, as well as the various species of wood and how long to dry them. Hands-on sessions include instructor demonstrations and individually supervised hands-on practice. Students will be able to see the completed Kinstone Chapel and sauna while working on the new Dragon’s Keep Kiosk on the Kinstone campus.
MEALS! Daily free breakfast, lunch and dinner available for registered students. Camping is available for students at no additional cost in our designated camping area at Kinstone. Call for details and to reserve a space.
