The rising FULL MOON will be seen (weather permitting) as it climbs up from the eastern horizon while we welcome it with awe \nAccording to Frank\, the gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction. Gongs and singing bowls are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong or the bowl\, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs and bowls is about spiritual\, physical and emotional resolution. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for weekly Kinections through Yoga – Thursdays in the Stone Circle! \n\nNOTE – UPDATED TIME!! \nJoin us for yoga among the standing stones of the Great Stone Circle with Jennifer Monsos (a.k.a. YogaJen or Jen).  Jen is an experienced yoga teacher who loves to help others on their wellness journey. \nThe energy exchange happening within Kinstone during time is so important. The more who join in\, the more connections can be made and deepened. Come on\, join in\, and make a “kinection”! \nWHEN:  weekly on Thursdays from 10am – 11am  NOTE THE UPDATED TIME! \nCOST:  This experience is donation based + the entrance fee to Kinstone ($10). Our hope is to keep these accessible to any who are feeling the call to move and do yoga with us. Consider a Season Pass to Kinstone if you plan to attend these events regularly! Come early and wander the grounds\, visit your favorite standing stones\, and get inspired. \n\nAbout your leader \nJennifer Monsos\, called YogaJen or Jen\, is a mother of three (now adults) and has taught yoga since 2002 (over 3500 hours of classes) to a crazy variety of people. From the tiniest of humans with their moms in mommy and me classes\, to folks in assisting living and nursing homes. She is trained to provide trauma-informed yoga classes\, so everyone can participate and feel welcome and safe.  Jen also owned a local / whole food restaurant and is a CPA who is totally comfortable doing taxes\, finances and accounting! Besides teaching yoga she loves to teach everyone to be able to cook quick and easy foods as well as set up budgets\, businesses\, and become debt free. DESCRIPTION:Autumn Equinox Morning Observance\nWatch the Sunrise Alignment Highlight the Heart Stone \n\n\n\nWe are proceeding in the cloudy weather. Any who wish to may gather with us for a short program but we will NOT see the alignment due to the overcast skies!   \n\nThis event will be held as scheduled as long as the weather is good. We will be outdoors as we stand and watch the sunrise. If the weather is bad\, we will cancel – watch for cancellation updates (if any) on the day of the event.  \nAt Kinstone we have a unique alignment visible only at Equinox at sunrise\, we call it The Heart Alignment. Stand with us in The Three Witnesses sculpture as the sun aligns through the Equinox Window and highlights the Heart Stone. Come and see! \nAutumn Equinox is an astronomically significant solar event. It occurs when the sun is midpoint in its journey from Summer Solstice to Winter Solstice. The sun appears to rise at due east and set at due west. It is traditionally seen as a time of balance. The light of day and the dark of night are equal. It is a herald of winter; a time for settling in for the season of rest\, rejuvenation and root work. \n\n\n\nCOST: admission to Kinstone (pay in advance online OR place your cash admission in the Blue Payment Box attached to the Information Sign Board near the parking areas); No Registration Required \nDate: Saturday\, September 23\, 2023   Time: 6:30am – 8:00am (at Sunrise) \nLocation: The Three Witnesses Sculpture at Kinstone \n\n\n\nActual sunrise is expected at 6:54am for our location. However\, with the topography specific to Kinstone\, the time we witness it may be just a bit later. Come at 6:30 to enjoy the predawn horizons and our brief program before we stand to watch the sun arrive. \nWe will gather in the center of The Three Witnesses sculpture at Kinstone. Given fair weather and clear skies\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and beams through the Equinox Window to light up the heart of the middle standing stone\, known as the “Heart Stone”. Given cloudy weather\, we will not see the sunrise\, but will greet it ceremoniously regardless. \n\n\nThis will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading to welcome Spring. After the reading\, if the sun is visible\, participants may wish to watch the alignment through the Equinox Window\, see the heart highlighted in the center stone Witness\, sit in the light of the sun\, take photos\, and greet the sunrise. \n\nDress for the weather. Bring a camp chair to sit on\, for your comfort\, if you wish. Be prepared for it to be breezy and cool up here on the ridge! If the weather is bad\, we will cancel – watch for final updates on the day of the event.  \nThis Sunset Alignment event is held the evening before the date of Equinox as we say farewell to Summer by watching its last sunset together.  \nAt Kinstone we have a unique alignment visible only at Equinox at sunset. Stand with us and the Enlightenment Stones (Atlas and Lancelot) as the sun aligns to shine through the perforations in Lancelot and cast a line of bright points of light onto Atlas. Come and see! Join us to celebrate the coming of harvest-time and the golden season of autumn. \nAutumnal Equinox is an astronomically significant solar event. Given fair weather and clear skies as the sun sets in the West\, we will witness the light as it passes through the “Wise One” (Lancelot) and enlightens the “World” (Atlas). If the sunlight is strong enough and unobstructed by clouds on the horizon\, we will see a line of polka-dots on Atlas and a select few folks may be able to “catch the sun” as it aligns with the perforations in Lancelot. We will begin watching for opportunities to Catch the Sun immediately after our readings. \nDress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, jackets\, scarves\, hats and gloves. Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on\, for your comfort\, if you wish. Be prepared for it to be breezy and cool up here on the ridge. Many people underestimate the wind and cold. \n\n\nThis event is outdoors and will be held only weather permitting. If it is raining this event will be cancelled. After that\, anyone attending can try this on a first-come basis. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for monthly Kinections through DRUMMING on first Tuesdays. \n\nEvery First Tuesday\, May through October\,  – yes\, even on the Fourth of July – join us for a drum circle in the Great Stone Circle; led by Cheri Bunker. Cheri is a trained drumming facilitator and has led many drum circles and programs that promote the positive effect of the drum on health. \nDrumming is an ancient practice that feeds the soul and the mind and is a great wellness tool with many documented health benefits. Join us outdoors in the midst of the energy of the Great Stone Circle. Each month we will do different types of drumming. For example\, one month may be all frame drums and another a mix of world drums and hand percussion; sometimes we may sit in a circle and other times we may move about or walk in rhythm. \nAbsolutely no drumming experience is necessary and if you do not have a drum\, one will be provided for you. DESCRIPTION:Due to the popularity of this experience\, we are offering this event twice this year – we hope to see you there!  \nJoin Frank Andresen and Kathy Hansman of Temple Harmonics as they create a vibrational soundscape for us in the shelter of the standing stones of the Great Stone Circle – all will be washed in sound just as the full moon arrives on the scene. \nAt this nighttime event\, watch the sunset\, relax with sacred sounds of rare Tibetan singing bowls\, huge gongs and Native American flute to experience a full immersion sound bath in the Great Stone Circle while the moon rises! \nBring your favorite crystal with you to charge it up with all this high vibe energy. You will also have an opportunity to get your chakras grounded with healing vibrations while standing in a large singing bowl and/or choose a sound bath where you will be drenched in focused sound vibrations as you sit in front of a massive gong. \nIf skies are clear you will be able to see the (nearly) full moon rise over the rim of the world and over the standing stones of Kinstone. The rising FULL MOON will be seen (weather permitting) as it climbs up from the eastern horizon while we welcome it with awe \nAccording to Frank\, the gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction. Gongs and singing bowls are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong or the bowl\, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs and bowls is about spiritual\, physical and emotional resolution. So we enter into ritual in order to respond to the call of the soul.” \n― Malidoma Patrice Somé\, Ritual: Power\, Healing and Community\n\n\nJoin us for this monthly community healing ritual led by Erica Thibodeaux\, MS\, LPCC\, occurring on the third Saturday of each month May through October from 3pm to 5pm  (except July when it is on the 4th Saturday!). No experience necessary. SUMMARY:Strikepoint - A Tintinnabulation of Bells
DESCRIPTION:The “strikepoint” is a mark etched into the side of a bell indicating precisely where the clapper should strike to create the purest sound. \nStrikepoint\, an internationally-acclaimed handbell ensemble based in Duluth\, MN\, will be playing for the love of the bells in a small group session at Kinstone. Visitors to Kinstone are invited to listen and experience the uplifting joy of their playing of the bells. The music will be offered in the Great Stone Circle (weather dependent) for free-will donations. A collection basket will be available near the performance. All donations will go to this group!  If weather is not ideal\, the session will move to one of our sheltered locations (e.g. Chapel\, Dragon’s Keep or Education Center Porch). \nParaphrased from a news article in the Akron Beacon Journal: Annual summer tours have taken this group throughout the continental U.S. as well as to England\, Scotland\, Wales\, Japan\, Canada\, Hong Kong\, Sweden\, and Hawaii. Strikepoint has been the featured performer at numerous Area and National Handbell Festival Conferences \, as well as four National Handbell Directors’ Seminars. Strikepoint recordings have been featured on local\, national\, and international broadcasts. \nWhen performing in full concert\, Strikepoint rings 6-plus octaves of bronze Schulmerich handbells\, 7 octaves of handchimes\, 2 octaves of Silver Melody Bells\, and 3 octaves of Petit and Fritzen handbells\, along with a range of other instruments as needed. We may see some portion of these collections in our impromptu session with them at Kinstone; however please be informed that this is NOT a concert. Cheri is a trained drumming facilitator and has led many drum circles and programs that promote the positive effect of the drum on health. \nDrumming is an ancient practice that feeds the soul and the mind and is a great wellness tool with many documented health benefits. Join us outdoors in the midst of the energy of the Great Stone Circle. Each month we will do different types of drumming. For example\, one month may be all frame drums and another a mix of world drums and hand percussion; sometimes we may sit in a circle and other times we may move about or walk in rhythm. \nAbsolutely no drumming experience is necessary and if you do not have a drum\, one will be provided for you. You will also have an opportunity to get your chakras grounded with healing vibrations while standing in a large singing bowl and/or choose a sound bath where you will be drenched in focused sound vibrations as you sit in front of a massive gong. \nIf skies are clear you will be able to see the (nearly) full moon rise over the rim of the world and over the standing stones of Kinstone. The rising FULL MOON will be seen (weather permitting) as it climbs up from the eastern horizon while we welcome it with awe \nAccording to Frank\, the gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction. Gongs and singing bowls are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong or the bowl\, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs and bowls is about spiritual\, physical and emotional resolution. SUMMARY:The Labyrinth and the Creative Spirit Workshop
DESCRIPTION:THE LABYRINTH AND THE CREATIVE SPIRIT \nJoin Kathie Giorgio\, critically acclaimed author of novels\, story books\, essays and poetry as she presents an educational workshop on the use of the labyrinth as a tool to enhance and focus the creative process. \nImportant: Hand sanitizer will be available at all times\, each person will have their own materials\, some content will be delivered outdoors (weather permitting)\, each person will bring their own lunch and snacks. Masks are optional. \nThe labyrinth and the creative process go hand in hand. In this interactive workshop\, we will first take the time to define the four steps of the creative process: Preparation\, Incubation\, Illumination\, and Implementation. Then we will make these steps OUR steps – literally our footsteps – as we walk the labyrinth. \nAll who take this workshop are encouraged to have an interest in the arts\, particularly writing\, literary arts and visual arts. Each person will focus on an individual project. You do not have to have a specific\, pre-determined project\, and in fact\, it is better to come with an open mind as the labyrinth will help you arrive at an idea. Please don’t feel that you already have to be an artist or writer to do this – anyone with an interest is encouraged to participate. \nAfter the discussion of the creative process\, we will all walk the labyrinth. Upon reaching the center of the labyrinth\, participants will jot down notes or sketches of the images and thoughts they had on the spiral in. The walk from center back to the beginning is a focused time to let your idea(s) take shape. Upon stepping out of the labyrinth\, participants will start to formalize and work on their project – an art piece or written work – within the time allotted. \nAll participants will leave the workshop with a project well underway and helped on its way by turning our footsteps into the steps of the creative process. \nPre-registration is required\, as space is limited. The fee includes instruction and a selection of materials; the workshop is expected to fill. \nAlthough some art and writing materials will be provided\, please bring your preferred art supplies and/or whatever it is you like to write on. A sense of familiarity is often welcomed when working on something brand new. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for weekly Kinections through Yoga – Thursdays in the Stone Circle! \n\nNOTE – UPDATED TIME!! \nJoin us for yoga among the standing stones of the Great Stone Circle with Jennifer Monsos (a.k.a. YogaJen or Jen).  Jen is an experienced yoga teacher who loves to help others on their wellness journey. \nThe energy exchange happening within Kinstone during time is so important. The more who join in\, the more connections can be made and deepened. Come on\, join in\, and make a “kinection”! \nWHEN:  weekly on Thursdays from 10am – 11am  NOTE THE UPDATED TIME! \nCOST:  This experience is donation based + the entrance fee to Kinstone ($10). Our hope is to keep these accessible to any who are feeling the call to move and do yoga with us. Consider a Season Pass to Kinstone if you plan to attend these events regularly! No registration is required.  \nWhat to bring: water bottle\, mat and/or blanket\, chair or cushion\, sunscreen\,  insect repellent\, and any other items you wish for your comfort. \nGentle Rain or shine! \nLocation/Meeting Area: The group will meet in the Great Stone Circle as a general rule. If it is raining\, the group will meet under the pavilion of the Dragon’s Keep or inside the Chapel of Creation depending upon the number of participants. If there is thunder\, lightning\, or high winds\, the event will be cancelled. Come early and wander the grounds\, visit your favorite standing stones\, and get inspired. \n\nAbout your leader \nJennifer Monsos\, called YogaJen or Jen\, is a mother of three (now adults) and has taught yoga since 2002 (over 3500 hours of classes) to a crazy variety of people. From the tiniest of humans with their moms in mommy and me classes\, to folks in assisting living and nursing homes. She is trained to provide trauma-informed yoga classes\, so everyone can participate and feel welcome and safe.  Jen also owned a local / whole food restaurant and is a CPA who is totally comfortable doing taxes\, finances and accounting! Besides teaching yoga she loves to teach everyone to be able to cook quick and easy foods as well as set up budgets\, businesses\, and become debt free.
