SUMMARY:Opening Celebration of "Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family" Land Art
DESCRIPTION:OPENING CELEBRATION of \n“Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family” \n a 4Ground Midwest Land Art Biennial art installation \n\nDate:  Tuesday\, June 21\, 2022  SUMMER SOLSTICE \nTime:  Noon \nCOST:  FREE and open to the public  (Donations are greatly appreciated! Also\, if you plan to enjoy the Kinstone grounds for all or part of the day before or after this event\, please pay admission. Thank you!) \nPlace:  Kinstone – in the Great Stone Circle and in the Education Center Building (air conditioned!) \nWhat:  Art Opening Celebration!  We will celebrate the opening of  “Growing Family” an installation of the “Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family” project at Kinstone by artists Wang Ping and Joe Lerro\, part of the 4Ground Midwest Land Art Biennial festival going on all season. \n\nArtists Wang Ping and Joe Lerro will be onsite to discuss the installation. \nAl “Good Heart” Baker\, Big Drum Chief and Keeper of Sacred Song of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa\, will drum and sing in honor of the rivers of the world and the global community we all belong to. \nWe will be treated to a stunning display of prayer flags from all around the world that will encircle the Great Stone Circle and line the entire length of the Summer Solstice Corridor. A perfect way to usher in the sun on Summer Solstice! \nJoin this collaborative\, interactive performance and be an active participant in this project. We will highlight community and the inclusion of everyone who attends and all those who have participated by creating flags from 2012 until now. \nWe will have at least one art workstation set up with all supplies needed to make art and poetry on flags. You can make plant prints\, drawings\, writings\, or whatever your heart desires with paints\, rollers\, sprays\, markers\, and more. These flags will be added to the “Growing Family” where they will fly all summer long… until Autumn Equinox when the project closes.  At that point\, these flags will join the thousands of others that travel from river to river all around the globe. \nAll who attend are invited to make prayer flags (also referred to as “river flags” in a nod to the connecting influence of the rivers and waters of the world) to add to the art installation. Poetry\, art\, and creative self expression are the highest form of empowerment. When we share from our hearts we reforge and renew the connection we all share as beings on this beautiful planet. That sharing of self is the core of this art installation. We hope you will come be part of it. \nRead more about this project\, 4Ground\, and the artists at this link:\n 4Ground Land Art at Kinstone 6/1 – 9/22 \nABOUT Alvin Baker (Good Heart):\nGood Heart is a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. He has devoted his life to the re-building and development of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation community. He is a lifelong practitioner of the ancient healing arts of the Great Lakes Peoples. He is an accomplished woodsman with a superb knowledge of “Mother Earth”\, his environment\, and how to live with the land. Mr. Baker is recognized as an Eagle Staff Carrier for the Old Bald Eagle Warrior Society\, the Big Drum Chief and Keeper of Sacred Song. He is a Purification Lodge Leader\, Spiritual Leader and Ceremonial Chief of the Anishinabeg Great Lakes Ogichiidaa. Good Heart is recognized Internationally as a Doctor of indigenous healing fine arts and has worked professionally as a consultant on indigenous traditions\, culture and history his entire life. Good Heart has worked for the Lac Courte Oreilles’ Honor The Earth Education Foundation and has served as both Public Relations Officer and Chairman. Mr. Baker is also an accomplished graphic artist with over forty years experience as a professional sign painter. \n  \nA note about Summer Solstice:\nThis day was selected for the opening celebration for the art installation “Growing Family” by artists Joe Lerro and Wang Ping because it embodies the spirit of this project. Summer Solstice is the day when we enjoy the longest period of light. It is the pivot point from Spring to Summer; from initiation to a time of focused growth. It is a time when all the intentions and seeds that we planted in Spring are hungry for the fuel to help them grow. The long\, luxurious days of Summer bring the nourishing light of the Sun making our plantings thrive\, and in this light we thrive\, too! \nSummer reminds us that there is hope in the world. The strong light illuminates\, inspires\, and shows us how our own light can spread all around the globe and be nourishment for all. Through our own light and our own heart-centered actions we offer nourishment to others\, just like the sun. Summer becomes a time to work on ourselves and our ability to be the light and find meaning in our journey\, even when it seems uncertain. This is the rhythm of nature; new beginnings transition into a period of uncertainty. Summer is the time to develop faith in our life\, squash the darkness with light\, and trust that just like the Sun\, we will rise each day no matter what life brings us. \nTHANK YOU for supporting us and joining us in honoring our waters\, our world\, and our community! \nThe 4 Ground Midwest Land Art Biennial 2022 event is sponsored by Franconia Sculpture Park in Schafer\, Minnesota in partnership with Arts Midwest and International Sculpture Center.

SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Sunrise Observance
DESCRIPTION:Every Summer Solstice\, we stand and greet the sun as it enters the Great Stone Circle at sunrise. You are invited to join us as we recognize the passing of the seasons from Spring to Summer in this auspicious and sacred stone place. Witness the arrival of Summer and send Spring on its way with blessings. This year we have two special musicians joining us!! \nThis event will be held as scheduled as long as it is not raining or storming. We will be outdoors as we stand and watch the sunrise. If there is rain or it is storming\, we will cancel – watch for cancellation updates (if any) on the day of the event.  \nSPECIAL GUESTS: \n Shawn Vougeot: singer\, songwriter\, classical violinist\, television producer\, videographer and cofounder of New World Women\, will serenade the rising sun with her violin. \nAl “Good Heart” Baker: Big Drum Chief and Keeper of Sacred Song of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa\, will drum and sing to honor the sun on this Summer Solstice. \nThis promises to be one of those deeply soulful experiences you get when your heart strings are plucked and you resonate in time with the whole universe. Don’t miss this!  (I know\, it’s early… but don’t go back to sleep!) \nWe will gather in the Great Stone Circle in time to witness the rising of the sun – actual sunrise is at 5:23am but it is usually at least 5:30 before it is fully visible in the stone circle. Feel free to arrive as early as 5:00am if you wish. \nGiven fair weather and a clear horizon\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and is ushered through the Summer Solstice Corridor into the circle. It will set its golden glow upon anyone standing in the center of the circle. Further\, it will cast the shadow of those persons standing in the center onto the stone directly in the path of the sun – the “Shadow Stone”.  Fun fact: This stone also marks the exact point of Winter Solstice Sunset\, i.e.  summer solstice sunrise and winter solstice sunset occur along the exact same line.  Who knew? Truly magical! \nThis will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading. We will also light a Solstice Fire. \nCOST: this event is FREE and open to the public\, No Registration Required  (Donations are greatly appreciated! Also\, if you plan to enjoy the Kinstone grounds for all or part of the day before or after this event\, please pay admission. Thank you! Admission can be paid in advance online or you can place cash into a Blue Payment Box on the Information Sign Board near the parking area when you arrive.) \nDate: Tuesday\, June 21\, 2022  Time: 5:15am – 6:15am \nThis event is outdoors. Please note that we will not see the alignment if it is cloudy or if the horizon is obstructed by morning mist\, fog\, or clouds. Dress for the weather\, be prepared to walk on dewy\, wet grass paths; bring a blanket or camp chair if you wish for your comfort; wear appropriate footwear\, scarves\, hats\, and even gloves if needed! Bring your own insect repellent if you wish. \nCancellation will occur in case of rain or storms. Cancellations will be posted only on this event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time for this event. \nInteresting fact: The exact time of the astronomical Summer Solstice is Tuesday\, June 21\, 2022 at 4:13 am CDT.  \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck

If you do have a drum or hand percussion instrument\, please bring it along! Participants are encouraged to move freely within the circle with drums or dance to the primal beat. We will end each circle with a melodic rhythm meditation that is deeply moving. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nKinections Through Art and Poetry on First Fridays \nSPECIAL ART EXPERIENCE ON SEPTEMBER 2:  SUMINAGASHI (also known as Japanese Paper Marbling). This art form is as meditative\, mystical and metaphysical as it is fun and easy to do. Come try it! We are hosting Dawn Tevis of SuminagashiScape to lead us in doing some suminagashi art during the Friday Kinections – Art and Poetry (First Fridays at Kinstone) event on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 2. We’ll do this “floating ink” art on paper and maybe even on some smooth rocks that Kristine will provide! AND… we also plan to make some suminagashi inspired PRAYER FLAGS to add to the art installation that is part of the 4Ground Midwest Land Art! Exciting times! MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the First Friday – Friday Kinections event in September. \nEvery FIRST Friday\, May through October\, join us for a bit of creativity while we express ourselves through art and poetry. This year we are focusing on the creation of prayer flags that will become part of our “Growing Family” art installation that is part of the 4Ground Biennial Land Art festival going on all season. We welcome Valerie Savage and Shannon McHone as our leaders. They will be present to assist with supplies and ideas and they will hold the space for the group.  The leader is available to provide basic guidance. \nThe leader will be present and creating prayer flags\, art and/or poetry each FIRST Friday; the energy exchange happening within Kinstone during this hour each week is so important. The more who join in the more connections can be made and deepened. Come on\, join in\, and make a “kinection”! \nNo registration is required.  Rain or shine! \nLocation/Meeting Area: The FIRST Friday groups will meet inside the Education Center as a general rule where we will have paper\, fabric\, paints\, markers\, and other supplies for creative expression including making prayer flags and other art and poetry. Come early and wander the grounds\, visit your favorite standing stones\, and get inspired. \nWhat to bring: water bottle\, and any personal art supplies you may wish to bring \nCOST:  Admission to Kinstone…  and… the leaders appreciate a $5 to $10 suggested donation. \nThis is an informal\, donation based offering; which basically means come as you are and pay what you can using the suggested donation as a starting place. You must have paid your admission to Kinstone upon entering the grounds (either by credit card in advance online or in cash in the blue payment boxes on the information boards). There will be a separate collection point at the event where donations for the event will be taken. If you can pay the full suggested amount for the experience\, wonderful! If you can pay more than the suggested amount that would be awesome as you may be paying it forward for someone who cannot afford it. If you cannot afford the suggested amount\, pay what you can\, we understand. All are welcome no matter what their financial status is. We just ask that you make an honest donation. All donations go to the leader for the evening and to Kinstone for use of the space. \n\nFRIDAY KIN-ECTION EXPERIENCES \n\nFIRST Fridays: creative expression\, come make a prayer flag for our “Growing Family” art installation\nSECOND Fridays: group meditation\nTHIRD Fridays: drumming circles \nFOURTH Fridays: restorative yoga / movement sessions\nFIFTH Fridays: open practice; the fifth Fridays of the month (there are just 2 throughout the 2022 season) shall remain open for individual practices with no designated event\, theme or leader. SUMMARY:4Ground Land Art at Kinstone 6/1 - 9/22
DESCRIPTION:“Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family” a 4Ground Land Art Installation\nKinstone is one of 15+ sites that are participating in the 4 Ground: Midwest Land Art Biennial 2022 — a far-reaching arts initiative and land art event spanning four states and tribal lands of the Upper Midwest. 4Ground is designed to raise awareness around important land and water issues affecting the region while celebrating the art\, land and history of the rural Midwest and boosting tourism of the region through suggested road trips to experience site-specific land art.  This art festival will be held from June 1 throughout the summer. For more information on the many sites and artists involved throughout the region\, please visit the festival home page here: 4Ground Biennial. \nKinstone will host artists Wang Ping and Joe Lerro and their installation called “Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family” \nKinship of Rivers: We Are One Family is an interactive installation celebrating our connections with land\, air\, water\, and communities. Visit and participate in “Growing Family\,” a reclaimed black locust\, cedar\, and bamboo structure hosting beans and prayer flags of art and poetry made by visitors\, symbolizing growth\, vitality and harmony. Black locust and beans\, both in the Leguminosae family\, fix and store nitrogen in the soil. The project grows with seasons: building the structure and installing flags and sowing beans in spring; celebrating the blossoms\, shade and fruit of the beans\, art and poetry in summer; harvesting seeds and flags in autumn to continue the cycle of life and our hope for peace. \nJOIN US all season long to view and participate in this amazing project at Kinstone. Also\, mark your calendars and plan to attend three special celebration days for this art installation; click on the following links for more information on each: \nMay 2: Kinstone Kin-Day 2022 – Introducing Kinship of Rivers project coming to Kinstone \nJune 21:  Opening Celebration for Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family – a 4Ground Land Art project \nSeptember 22:  Closing Celebration of Kinship of Rivers: We Are One Family – a 4Ground Land Art project \nStarted in 2012\, Kinship of Rivers brings communities\, rivers and lands together through prayer flags of art\, poetry and prints. Over 5000 prayer flags have been made along the Mississippi\, Yangtze\, Amazon\, Ganges\, and Nile Rivers\, Mounts Everest and Kilimanjaro\, and all continents. Joe Lerro worked with Wang Ping for two exhibitions at the Soap Factory and as they traveled across Africa from Zimbabwe\, Zambia to Tanzania\, from Victoria Falls to Kilimanjaro and the Nile. \nThousands of these world-rich prayer flags will be displayed on three (3) special event days at Kinstone\, carrying messages of unity from the Yangtze\, Amazon\, Ganges\, and Nile Rivers\, Mounts Everest\, Kilimanjaro and other sacred places. See them at Kinstone on May 2 at our Spring Opening\, June 21 during Summer Solstice events\, and September 22 during Autumnal Equinox events. \nThis project thrives and grows with the participation of the community. Visitors to Kinstone can make prayer flags during events or anytime at the open art station in our Education Center. Each flag made is an artful pledge to promote peace and protect air\, soil and water. The flags made by Kinstone visitors will be displayed on the Growing Family structure through September. As the season draws to a close\, they will then join the world prayer flags as they roam the globe\, broadcasting peace and unity from our Kinstone community out to the ends of the earth and beyond – like a pebble in a pond they will ripple forth. \nWang Ping (she/her/hers) was born in Shanghai\, China and came to the USA in 1985. SUMMARY:May New Moon Women's Circle
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT:  DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID-19 SITUATION\, WE WILL ONLY HOLD THIS EVENT OUTDOORS AND ONLY IF THE WEATHER PERMITS. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE AND ON THE CORRESPONDING FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES. THANK YOU! \n\nThe Kinstone New Moon Women’s Circle is a Sister Circle. We follow the guidelines of the Global Sisterhood. A Sister Circle is a safe and sacred place where we can get real\, share our journeys\, insights\, and stories. We can cultivate self-love and authentic connection. In circle we can all speak our truth and be seen and heard for who we are. All women are invited to join in our circle\, especially women who desire to create supportive relationships with other women\, women who are feeling overwhelmed or stressed and are looking for some rejuvenation\, and women who are looking for ways to find and express the Sacred in their daily lives. \nWe have selected the Friday closest to the actual new moon and still in the same month as the date of our New Moon Women Circle events. The cost is included in your admission to Kinstone. Join us! Please share these events with other women who may be interested. \n\nWhat to expect: In circle\, we discuss the theme for the month\, then join in a short group heart meditation\, followed by a time for personal sharing – feelings\, questions\, truths\, stories\, poems\, and more. In this space we are free to celebrate our individuality as well as our collective strength\, fearlessness\, nurturing\, healing and gifts. How would your life change if you chose to take that number up a few notches?\nWhat passions\, creative projects\, songs\, or truths want to be expressed through you? What can you do to weave these avenues of self-expression into your life?\nWhat are you most terrified to say out loud? What have you held inside that upon speaking it\, may FREE you?\nHow would your life be different if you allowed yourself to be more vulnerable with others\, sharing more of your inner truth with them?\n\n——————————————————————————– \nGENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE Monthly KINSTONE NEW MOON WOMEN’S CIRCLE Gatherings \nWomen have been gathering in a healing\, sharing sister circle at Kinstone on the New Moon since March 2016 when the first International Women’s Day was launched. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Sunrise Observance 2021
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the passing of the seasons from Autumn to Winter. Come acknowledge the Winter Solstice by watching the sunrise with us and seeing the alignment in the Great Stone Circle at Kinstone! This will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading to help us welcome Winter and send Autumn on its way with blessings. \nCOST: admission to Kinstone ($5/person) (pay in advance online OR pay in cash at the event. No Registration Required \nDate: Tuesday\, December 21\, 2021  Time: 7:00 am – 8:00am  (Sunrise Gathering) \nIMPORTANT: We will hold a short program outdoors near the Porch of the Education Center Building starting at 7am. Depending on snow levels and weather we will then decide if we go out to the circle or not. Weather and snow conditions permitting\, we will proceed together to the center of the Great Stone Circle. Given fair weather and clear skies\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and beams through the Chair Stones to light up anyone standing in the middle of the circle. Note: Actual sunrise is at 7:38am and given the topography at Kinstone it will be closer to 7:50am when we may see the sun from the center of the circle. \nDress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, boots\, scarves\, hats\, extra layers and gloves! Expect it to be colder and windier than you think! Be prepared to walk some distance through snow and on uneven (perhaps icy – or muddy\, slippery) paths to get to the circle! \nParking is limited – especially in winter. Please park in the small lot by the Education Center (Staff Parking area)\, park as closely to others as possible to make enough room for all. Note: we highly discourage parking along the road\, however; if you absolutely must park along the road due to snow in our Staff and Visitor Parking areas\, please make sure you put on your 4-way flashing lights while parked there for this short event. \nThis event is planned to be held outdoors ONLY.  It will be cancelled in case of snow storm or bad weather. Please note that we will not see the alignment if it is cloudy or if the horizon is obstructed by morning mist\, fog\, rain\, snow or clouds. If it is raining or snowing\, or if the snow on the ground is too deep for walking through\, we will CANCEL.  Cancellations will be posted on THIS event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time for this event. \n[Interesting fact: The exact time of the astronomical 2021 Winter Solstice is Tuesday\, December 21\, 2021 at 9:59am CST.] \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck

SUMMARY:ON-YOUR-OWN EVENT! December New Moon REFLECTIONS
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT: This is NOT an actual event and will not be held at any designated place and time. Please do not come to Kinstone for this on-your-own event.\n\n\n \n\n\nTHIS IS AN ON-YOUR-OWN EVENT\, a PLACEHOLDER FOR YOU for the December New Moon – please use the theme and information below to help you celebrate and honor the new moon from your own place\, on your own time\, and in your own way this month!  Even more resources can be found on the Global Sisterhood website: https://www.globalsisterhood.org/.\n\n\nDecember Theme: The Heroine’s Journey: I’m the one I’ve been waiting for \nAstrology: Sagittarius \nKeywords: Expansive\, adventurous\, enthusiastic\, open-minded\, freedom-loving\, independent\, philosophical\, search for wisdom. \n\nThoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month (modified from provided Global Sisterhood resources): \n“Sister\, have you ever felt incomplete or not enough? Have you ever found yourself waiting for another to see you so you can truly see yourself? What about waiting for someone to come and rescue or complete you? Have you ever felt that there is some place far off in the distance that you must get to in order to relax and fully enjoy who you are? \nWe tend to forget that we\, as women\, are channels of divine nectar\, the sweet source from which all life is born. We are the beginning and the end. Life begins with a woman gestating and giving birth\, and it ends with us returning our bodies to Mother Earth. We are made in her image\, and we hold her power\, truth\, and wholeness within us. This is the great mystery and secret that all hero’s go seeking — oneness with the source of all life — so that the hero can channel the power\, wisdom\, and grace of the universe to help him/her support the ones he/she cares for most. \nAs women\, we hold the profound secret of life\, creation\, and oneness within us\, but we forget. We forget because we’ve inherited through our ancestral lines\, thousands of years of conditioning that women’s power is insignificant in relation to that of men. This\, however\, is one of the biggest misunderstandings and distortions of human history. This illusion has caused generations of harm for both men and women. There are various effects resulting from this cause. One of which\, is that women were taught that we need to “prove” ourselves worthy of love\, pleasure\, safety\, loyalty and adoration. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We are love\, and we are the answer to all the emptiness and confusion that may present itself in and around us. \nWe are the answer we have been waiting for. We are the wise eyes to see and we are the medicine our world needs. For this New Moon in Sagittarius\, we will remember that we are the heroines\, and our journey is both an inward journey and an outward journey of remembrance. You are already whole. You are the one you have been waiting for.” \n‘Note: The Heroine’s Journey is inspired by Joseph Campbell\, a world-renounced mythologist\, and his concept of the Hero’s Journey. He studied myths all over the world and found a cycle; a journey that they all go on that follows a story arch. Then\, Maureen Murdock created a female-centric version about the healing of the wounding of the feminine that exists deep within our culture. Murdock explains\, “The feminine journey is about going down deep into soul\, healing and reclaiming\, while the masculine journey is up and out\, to spirit.” ‘ \nThoughts about the Scorpio Astrological Forecast \n“The new moon and solar eclipse in Sagittarius will offer inspiration and creative momentum. December’s eclipse season can also push you to re-evaluate where you stand in regards to relationships in your life. You may notice situations where you feel yourself giving your power away to be seen\, appreciated\, or liked. This is the perfect opportunity to turn inward and practice deeply seeing and loving yourself. \nThis is the time to consciously consider what stories you or others might hold of you that seem old and perhaps untrue. You are invited to practice releasing these old beliefs about who you are or how you show up in your family or community\, and begin living in honor of your truth and authentic expression. \nWho are you? Who do you choose to be? You no longer need to feel restricted to the limitations of what you or others have always thought about you. It’s time now to turn inward and go on the deep and enriching journey of feeling into your authentic soul essence. Feel into your truth and all the emotions present. Do not run or hide from what is inside of you. The adventure inward will transform your outward reality. \nA new era is upon us. Old rules are thrown out. It’s time to let go of old stereotypes and pressures\, and courageously follow the heroine’s journey of listening to your inner wisdom and showing up according to your authentic truth.” \nReflections and Suggestions \n\nWhen you deepen your breath and close your eyes\, can you feel a sense of wholeness and wellbeing? If not\, where do you feel a sense of incompletion?\nHow do you fill yourself with love and a sense of wholeness? What makes you feel complete?\nWhat does it feel like in your body to embrace that you are infinitely powerful and that all the answers are within you?\nWhat part of your life do you have the most disempowering story around? What emotions are lingering around that story that may be holding you back from transforming it into an empowering one?\nWhat parts of your story have you shied away from owning? What gifts do you suspect lie in wait there for you to claim? How might these gifts affect and influence your service in the world?\n\nDiscussion Questions: \n\nWhat stories or beliefs are you releasing that make you feel like something is lacking in your life? What inner stories or beliefs keep you from feeling whole in the present moment.\nPlease share about your journey as a heroine in your own life. What was something invaluable that you have learned about being a human being?\nDo you live life on your own terms or do you schedule your time and activities based on what you think you should be doing? Do you take time to refill your cup and connect with yourself deeply. If so\, how?\nWhen you catch yourself speaking negatively about your life\, your body\, or your capabilities\, what do you do? Share any tips and tricks with your sisters.\nName something troubling you in your life right now\, large or small. What story would you tell about this challenging situation\, as if you really were the main character in a children’s book?\nWhat expertise do you have from simply living life and learning through your heroine’s journey? How can you apply this expertise to teach\, heal\, impact\, or lead?\n\nVisualizations to add into the Heart Meditation for this New Moon:  \n\nEnvision every little girl being raised knowing that she has the ability to heal herself through using her voice. She is the heroine of her own story\, and she can touch her community by sharing her story and her gifts.\nFeel the impact of every girl and every woman seeing themselves as heroines\, as we collectively break patterns of victimization and codependency\, and shift towards a deep sense of empowerment.\nImagine each woman confidently sharing her story\, her wisdom\, and the lessons of her life.\nEnvision girls growing up hearing these true stories of feminine empowerment and believing that no matter what unfolds in their lives\, they can heal\, rise\, and change the world.\nFeel deep peace and unity soothing our world as we all relax into deeply trusting the divine power within ourselves. Feel the infinite power of what is possible when we own our stories and choose to share them.\nEnvision yourself and every woman around the world feeling playful\, adventurous\, emboldened\, and courageous as we become the authors of our own lives and align with our most empowered selves.\nIn this moment\, feel yourself rooted in the knowing that you have everything you need to imagine and create a life of love\, confidence\, and service for yourself and your loved ones.\n\nCLOSING/NEXT STEPS: \nSHIFT TO A NARRATIVE OF EMPOWERMENT: \n\nNo matter what has happened to you\, you can choose to re-frame your life story so that you are the heroine. This can completely shift the way you feel about yourself\, your life\, your past\, your present\, and your future. It is a tool of empowerment that you can choose at any moment.\nA part of healing is sharing your story in service to others. This is an important part of the theme because sharing your story in itself is a transformational act. It is like a declaration to the universe that you are committing to seeing your story in an empowering way… and in doing so\, it inspires others to be empowered\, too.\nEverything you have been through has made you a teacher. Your life experiences have given you wisdom. Once you choose to receive the wisdom — even from incredibly dark times — it helps you to move on. In doing so\, you can share this wisdom with your community and the world. This is one of the greatest gifts of service you can give.\n\n  \n\nPLACEHOLDERS FOR THE FIRST NEW MOON EVENTS OF 2022 \nOn-Your-Own Event: Sunday\, January 2 – Capricorn: <theme tba> \nOn-Your-Own Event: Monday\, January 31 (2nd New Moon in January in our timezone – known as a BLACK MOON) – Aquarius: <theme tba> \nThere is no NEW MOON in February 2022 in our timezone – this is also known as a BLACK MOON. \nOn-Your-Own Event: Monday\, March 2 – Pisces: <theme tba> \nTBD – Tuesday\, March 8 – International Women’s Day 2022 – <theme tba> \n…  Check final schedule and changes when we update the website in January 2022 … \nReminder: We follow the guidelines\, schedule and themes provided by the Global Sisterhood. DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT: This is NOT an actual event and will not be held at any designated place and time. Please do not come to Kinstone for this on-your-own event.\n\n\n \n\n\nTHIS IS AN “ON-YOUR-OWN” EVENT\, a PLACEHOLDER FOR YOU for the November New Moon – please use the theme and information below to help you focus on inner work\, reflect\, set new intentions\, celebrate and honor the new moon from your own place\, on your own time\, and in your own way this month! \n\n\n\n\n\nNovember Theme: Sacred Sexuality: My pleasure\, my power \nAstrology: Scorpio \nKeywords: Deep\, mysterious\, intense\, charismatic\, cunning\, powerful\, intuitive\, passionate\, sexuality\, sensuality\, death and rebirth\, transformation. \n\nThoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month: \n“The challenges that this new moon brings us are to remain balanced and aligned and to create from a pure place of connection with the Divine. It’s important to wield our sensuality and sexuality in a positive way\, instead of acting from the shadow of feminine sexuality which is to utilize it to manipulate or compete. Rather\, as this new moon reminds us\,  we must wield our feminine power to create beauty\, healing and opportunity. When we heal our sexual traumas and our relationship to our own sexuality\, we are able to unlock this force that creates healing in our world\, and it allows us to stand confidently in our deep pleasure and power.” \nThoughts about the Scorpio Astrological Forecast \n“With Venus\, the Sun\, and the Moon in Scorpio\, this new moon is calling for us to bring pleasure and sensuality into the center of our intentions… and with Mercury in the mix\, we are invited to break the taboo of speaking about our sexuality. At this moment in time\, a special opportunity is arising for us to feel our emotions\, voice our desires\, share our stories\, and communicate our intentions so that we can have breakthroughs in healing our relationship to our sexuality. \nThe deep transformational Plutonic power of Scorpio is illuminating your pathway of healing. Feel deeply\, and walk with your head held high. You may feel confronted by the intensity of this new moon — but choose to trust. Sister\, this is a time for you to connect with what makes you come most fully alive so that you can stand strong and unwavering in your full power. Welcome to the new moon in Scorpio.” \nReflections and Suggestions \n“It is always helpful to do your own inner work around the theme. The best source of wisdom is our own! Consider journaling to help with your reflections. Here are some focus points to help: \n\nWhat about your sexuality most needs healing and liberation?\nReflect on a time you felt the most free\, grounded\, open\, and empowered in your sexual energy. How did this experience impact you?\nHow does your sexual energy (aka life-force energy) impact your creativity and productivity? Think about your projects\, the process of manifestation\, and your relationship to creativity itself.\nIdentify what you’ve been giving your power away to\, and transform this pattern so that you feel fully empowered. Is it a distraction\, addiction\, codependency\, shame\, feeling like you don’t have enough time\, etc?\nCreate space to share your emotions with a trusted friend\, or to process your emotions on your own. Any emotions that are uncomfortable or bottled up are asking to be released for your own psychological healing.\nGet clear on what you want to create\, and focus your attention and energy on this project. Channel your sexual energy into birthing this creation and take steady steps forward.”\n\nDiscussion Questions provided by the Global Sisterhood: \n\nWhat wisdom would you tell your younger self about sexuality?\nHave you ever used your sexuality in a manipulative way? If so\, what is the greatest lesson you have learned from that?\nAre you happy with your current sexual experiences and in what ways can your deepen your sense of safety\, trust\, and pleasure?\nDo you feel in any way that you don’t deserve pleasure\, are distancing yourself from it\, or judging it as bad?\nWhat does sacred sexuality mean to you and what is one thing you can do to bring more of it into your life?\nCreate your own question…!\n\nVisualizations to add into the Heart Meditation for this New Moon:  \n\nEnvision each girl being raised with the understanding that her body is sacred\, her body is her own\, and that she holds tremendous creative power that can heal the world.\nSee each woman connecting with and honoring her own sacred sexual energy\, and being honored and respected by all people. See her feeling safe\, sacred\, and free in her sensual expression.\nImagine each person on earth connecting to their innocence\, and feeling free to enjoy pleasure in all parts of their life.\nFeel in your body the beauty of each person utilizing their sexual and creative energy for healing\, connection\, and stepping into their full personal power.\nEnvision incredible respect\, passion\, and integrity in all intimate relationships on Earth. Envision this healthy understanding of the sacred power of sexual energy healing our world.\nImagine and feel the impact of all women and men on earth feeling deeply healed in their relationship to their pleasure and their power.\nFeel beautiful peace envelop our planet as a sense of safety\, trust\, clear boundaries\, understanding\, respect\, and honoring of desires opens within us all.\nSee and feel our world as safe\, wholesome\, playful\, honest\, pleasurable\, united\, and aware of our creative potential.\n\nCLOSING – words from the Global Sisterhood: \nMy sexual power\ndoes not lie simply in my curves\,\nmy mind\, my heart\, nor even my womb. \nMy sexual power lies deeply\nin the heart of the Divine which lives\nfully awake in every\npore and cell of my body. \nSacred is a word that\nonly scratches the surface\nof this limitless\, boundless\nlove for my power as a woman. \nMy pleasure has been feared\nfor it is the most potent force in the cosmos.\nMy feminine power has been suppressed\,\nfor it has the potential to create and destroy. \nYet I am here\, fierce\,\nembodied\, and sensual\,\nin devotion to the creative\nforce that throbs within me and all life. \nHere and now\, I reclaim:\nMy sexuality holds\nthe power of creation\, and I wield it in love. \nLet this holy fire burn\nthrough me\, awakening my body\nlike a singing choir: This is my pleasure.\nThis is my power. And I use it to heal the world. \n\nUpcoming 2021 Kinstone Women’s Circle Event Dates\, Astrologies and Themes: \nOn-Your-Own Event: Saturday\, December  4 – Sagittarius: The Heroine’s Journey: I’m the one I’ve been waiting for \n\nReminder: There are no in person gatherings for the Kinstone New Moon women’s circles during November\, December\, January\, and February plus any months that weather or pestilence prevent us from gathering in person. We post “On-Your-Own Events” for these months with insights and information provided by the Global Sisterhood that you can use to honor the new moon on your own.  Remember\, you can always join the Global Sisterhood and participate in their Virtual Circles on every New and Full Moon!  \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck

SUMMARY:October New Moon Women's Circle
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT:  DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID-19 SITUATION\, WE WILL ONLY HOLD THIS EVENT OUTDOORS AND ONLY IF THE WEATHER PERMITS. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE AND ON THE CORRESPONDING FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES. THANK YOU! \nKinstone Women’s Circle is a Sister Circle! We are part of the Global Sisterhood. \nDate: Friday\, October 8\, 2021  Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm (fyi: actual New Moon was Oct 6) \n\nOctober Theme: Restoring Balance: I heal the masculine and feminine within\n\nAstrology: Libra (Air Sign\, ruled by Venus) \nKeywords: Harmony\, partnership\, intellect\, commitment\, beautification\, peace\, intuition\, collaboration\, balance\, fairness\, graciousness\, artistry\, symmetry\, love \n\nThoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month (modified from provided Global Sisterhood resources): \nThis theme goes to the heart of humanity — the root of separation that can only be healed with harmony\, balance\, and a remembrance of our oneness. A revival of equal love and honor for the feminine and the masculine is needed now more than ever. Yet to achieve this unity\, we must look within and choose to heal these two polarities within ourselves. Both the masculine and the feminine essence lives in all people\, regardless of gender. As such\, men\, women\, and all people play a part in bringing forth true harmony and wholeness. \nLibra is here to bring a blanket of love and a sense of ease in the process.  Through Libra’s persuasion of opening yourself to change what is needed within you\, Libra also supports you with the energy to state your needs and create the boundaries truly needed for your soul. \nLibra’s energy of love\, gentleness and cooperation is here to move through every aspect of your life. You are held\, you are secure.  Trust and surrender to the great force which moves through every being in the entire universe. Love is the key and love is the way. Welcome to the new moon in Libra. \nSome questions for contemplation / inspiration for sharing this month: \n\n\n\nWhat does masculine and feminine mean to you both internally as well as externally?\nDo you have a tendency to express more masculine or feminine energy? Are you more comfortable expressing your feminine or masculine…at home? At work? With friends? With your family?\nWhere might you be suppressing your feminine energy in favor of the masculine\, or vice versa? Why do you feel you are suppressing it?\nHave you ever been in a romantic partnership where you embodied more masculine energy than your partner? How did it impact you and your partnership physically\, emotionally\, spiritually?\nDo you feel comfortable being supported by and asking for support from men?\nDo you feel comfortable praising men?\nHow do you think we\, as women can heal our collective judgment\, rage\, and fear of men? How do you think we as women can support men in healing their collective judgment\, rage\, and fear of women?\nCreate your own question / reflection.\n\n\n\nPlace:  Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, Wisconsin 54629 \nCost: Admission to Kinstone ($5/person) Pay in Advance or Bring Cash with you (exact change\, please) \nNO MEAL IS PROVIDED. Feel free to bring your own meal to enjoy picnic style before or after the circle meeting. \nIMPORTANT: Come prepared to share! Feel free to share what is on your heart\, something you have written or bring a short poem\, quote\, or story that speaks to you – this may be relevant to the theme for the month or could be anything that you find inspirational or that highlights the unique strengths of women. \nWHAT TO BRING:  A chair and/or blanket to sit on outdoors\, sunscreen\, insect repellent\, extra layers of clothing\, your own water bottle\, flashlights or headlamps for dark nights. \n——————————————————————————– \nGENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE Monthly KINSTONE NEW MOON WOMEN’S CIRCLE Meetings \nWomen have been gathering in a healing\, sharing sister circle at Kinstone on the New Moon since March 2016 when the first International Women’s Day was launched. We average about 20 women at our circles. Sometimes less\, sometimes more. We’ve had as few as 3 and as many as 42 show up! It begins each year with an event in conjunction with International Women’s Day (March 8) and continues each month on the Friday after the New Moon (except if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday) through October! (Note: prior to May\, 2021 we met on the actual day of the New Moon each month\, due to a variety of circumstances\, we have changed this to be held on the Friday following the New Moon unless the New Moon is on a Saturday or Sunday\, then we would meet on that Saturday night.) \nIn circle\, we join in a short heart meditation\, then we have a time for personal sharing – feelings\, questions\, truths\, stories\, poems\, and more. In this space we are free to celebrate our individuality as well as our collective strength\, fearlessness\, nurturing\, healing and gifts. Come as you are. The cost is included in your admission to Kinstone\, just $5/person. Join us! Please share these events with other women who may be interested. Thank you! \nKinstone has some amazing sacred spaces and we like to use them as much as possible. We may gather in the large Stone Circle\, Three Witnesses circle\, Star Gazer Circle\, Circle of Mystery or other outdoor sacred place at Kinstone (weather permitting). When the pandemic is no longer an issue we can meet inside our beautiful education center when the weather is not cooperative. Until then\, we will cancel the event in bad weather. \nFor more information\, please see the following links which are inspirational and instrumental in the organization of our circle: internationalwomensday.com. \n  \n\nUpcoming 2021 Kinstone Women’s Circle Event Dates\, Astrologies and Themes \nPlease note that we will update our website each month with specific event information for the monthly New Moon gathering. Specific reflections are made available about 1 week prior to each meeting date. We also create a Facebook event each month that announces the date we will meet\, the theme and more information. Check out our published events on the Kinstone Circle Facebook page. \nOn-Your-Own Event: Thursday\, November 4 – Scorpio: Sacred Sexuality: My pleasure\, my power  (If it is super nice weather we might schedule an in-person circle for Friday\, November 5 – keep an eye on this website and our FB page for updates on this.) \nOn-Your-Own Event: Saturday\, December  4 – Sagittarius: The Heroine’s Journey: I’m the one I’ve been waiting for \n\nReminder: There are no in person gatherings for the Kinstone New Moon women’s circles during November\, December\, January\, and February plus any months that weather or pestilence prevent us from gathering in person. SUMMARY:Ribbons of Intention Fire Ceremony 2021
DESCRIPTION:Ribbons of Intention Fire Ceremony\n\n\n\n\nOctober 4 is the date designated as The Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. On this date each year we remove the ribbons that are tied to the Tree of Intention (a.k.a. Prayer Tree) in the Kinstone Chapel of Creation and burn them in the fire pit in the Stargazer Circle\, releasing the prayers and intentions written there\, to God or the Universe\, to be fuel for their manifestation. This special event is marked by a brief ceremony. \nDate:  Monday\, October 4 \nTime:  12:00 Noon \n\nCost: admission to Kinstone ($5/person) (pay in advance online OR place your cash payment in the Blue Payment Box attached to the Information Sign Board near the parking areas). \n\nThe prayer ribbons are all removed from the Tree of Intention. We gather at the Stargazer Circle and create a sacred space for this ceremony around the fire. We speak of Saint Francis and the significance of his story and how it relates to the Kinstone story. We read stories about him and prayers that are attributed to him. We state our purpose in burning the ribbons; we profess our willingness to release attachment to the outcome and express profound gratitude that our needs will be provided for in creative and sometimes unexpected ways.  The ribbons are then put into the fire\, as they burn\, all the prayers and all the intentions are released. We end by saying a prayer of thanksgiving. \nIf you are interested in participating\, just show up. No registration is required. \n  \n\nWhy this day\, the Feast Day of Saint Francis? \nThe Chapel of Creation is a building created with many beautiful images of our Earth artistically displayed in the walls. The artwork was inspired by The Canticle of Creation or The Canticle of Brother Sun and Sister Moon\, a poem written by St. Francis of Assisi in the 1200’s. He is the patron saint of animals and ecologists due to his overwhelming love of the natural world. He believed that nature itself was the mirror of God. He called all creatures and natural wonders his “brothers” and “sisters”\, or his “kin”.  In this way\, Francis has become the patron saint of Kinstone.  To honor his life and his example of love of creation and devotion to God\, we perform this ceremony on his feast day.

SUMMARY:First Sunrise of Autumn - Equinox Heart Alignment
DESCRIPTION:Autumn Equinox Morning Observance\nWatch the Sunrise Alignment Enlighten the Heart Stone \n\nJoin us to greet the first sunrise of Autumn! We will celebrate the Autumnal Equinox as we look to see the equinox sunrise alignment between sun and stone.\n\nAutumn Equinox is an astronomically significant solar event. It occurs when the sun is midpoint in its journey from Summer Solstice to Winter Solstice. The sun appears to rise at due east and set at due west. It is traditionally seen as a time of balance. The light of day and the dark of night are equal. It is a harbinger of winter; a time for settling in for the season of rest\, rejuvenation and root work. \nAt Kinstone we have a unique alignment visible only at Equinox at sunrise. Stand with us in The Three Witnesses sculpture as the sun aligns through the Equinox Window and highlights the Heart Stone. Come and see! \n\n\nWe will gather in the center of The Three Witnesses sculpture at Kinstone. Given fair weather and clear skies\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge (and the corn across the road!) and beams through the Equinox Window to light up the heart of the middle standing stone\, known as the “Heart Stone”. Given cloudy weather\, we will not see the sunrise\, but will greet it ceremoniously regardless! This will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading. \nAfter our readings\, if the sun is visible\, participants may wish to look at the alignment through the Equinox Window\, see the heart highlighted in the Heart Stone\, sit in the light of the sun\, take photos\, and greet the sunrise. This gathering will last about 45 minutes to one hour. Actual sunrise is at 6:58am. However\, with the topography specific to Kinstone and the fields and trees in our view\, the time we witness it is always several minutes later. \n\n\n\nCOST: admission to Kinstone ($5/person) (pay in advance online OR place your cash admission in the Blue Payment Box attached to the Information Sign Board near the parking areas); No Registration Required \nDate: Wednesday\, September 22\, 2021   Time: 6:30am – 7:30am (at Sunrise) \nLocation: The Three Witnesses Sculpture at Kinstone \n\nDress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, jackets\, scarves\, hats and gloves! Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on\, for your comfort\, if you wish. Be prepared for it to be breezy and cool up here on the ridge! (Most people underestimate the wind and cold.) \nThis event is outdoors and will be held only in good weather. In light of COVID-19\, for everyone’s health and safety\, we will NOT gather indoors for any portion of this program and no indoor social time will be offered. If it is raining or overcast\, this event will be cancelled.  \nCancellations will be posted ONLY on THIS event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page at least one (1) hour before the scheduled start time for this event. \n\nHAPPY AUTUMN! \nInteresting fact: The exact time of the astronomical Autumnal Equinox is Wednesday\, September 22\, 2021 at 2:21pm CDT.  \nPhoto Credit: Kristine Beck

Come and see! \nCome celebrate the last sunset of Summer with us at Kinstone! Join us as we gather to observe the sunset alignment at Kinstone on the eve of the Fall (Autumnal) Equinox. We will gather near the stones known as Lancelot and Atlas for a short opening rite and reading.  Sunset is at 7:10pm according to the charts\, but is often a little earlier as seen from up on the ridge\, so we will begin watching for opportunities to Catch the Sun shortly after the reading at 6:30! \nGiven fair weather and clear skies as the sun sets in the West\, we will witness the light as it passes through the “Wise One” (Lancelot) and enlightens the “World” (Atlas). If the sun light is strong enough and unobstructed by clouds on the horizon\, we will see a line of polka-dots on Atlas and a select few folks may be able to “catch the sun” as it aligns with the perforations in the Wise One. Given cloudy weather\, we will not see the sunset\, but will greet it ceremoniously regardless! \nAutumnal Equinox is an astronomically significant solar event. \nCOST: admission to Kinstone ($5/person) (pay in advance online OR place your cash admission in the Blue Payment Box attached to the Information Sign Board near the parking areas); No Registration Required \nDate: Tuesday\, September 21\, 2021  Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm \nLocation: near the stones known as Atlas and Lancelot at Kinstone \nIf you wish to be given a chance to “catch the sun”\, please Contact Us to sign up by sending an email stating “I want to catch the sun” and include your full name\, email address and phone number with the subject “Catch the sun”. Guests who have signed up will be called in order of sign-up time – as many as we can get through will be given a chance to be photographed with their hands catching the sun – only if weather and sunset conditions permit the phenomenon to occur!  Bring a friend who can be your photographer! \nDress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, jackets\, scarves\, hats and gloves! Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on\, for your comfort\, if you wish. Be prepared for it to be breezy and cool up here on the ridge! (Most people underestimate the wind and cold.) \n\nThis event is outdoors and will be held only in good weather.

SUMMARY:Singing Bowls at Sunset
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a meditative music experience in the Great Stone Circle at sunset. Ageless sounds of singing bowls blended with chant and song. It promises to be an evening of resonance and contemplative peace. \nTraditional historic singing bowls produce sounds that invoke deep states of relaxation; naturally assisting one in entering expanded states of consciousness and meditation. The sound of the bowls creates a deep level of communication with our inner world that opens us to the divine.  The sounds and vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls opens blockages and helps us experience an inner calm and deep relaxation to invigorate our natural energy thus allowing our body-mind-spirit to quiet and find balance. \nThomas Roberts will lead us for this evening of captivating renewal by calling forth the ageless bell sounds from the bowls. Karen Lee will sing or chant with the bowls. At times you may hear influences from the Native American cultures that are an integral part of her life experience and spirituality. Experience the power and beauty of traditional Tibetan singing bowls and the blending tones of Karen’s voice as we watch the sunset. \nDuring this performance at Kinstone one can expect the unexpected … vocal spontaneity and improvisation from the heart\, intertwined with the vibrational voices of the Singing Bowls.  Prepare to be opened to deep relaxation and meditation in the presence of sacred sound. Come join us!! \nDate:  Saturday\, September 11\, 2021 \nTime:  6:30pm until sunset (approximately 7:45)  (Note: Actual time of the sunset is 7:37pm.) \nTickets:  $15.00 Early Bird price through September 4\, after that it is $20.00 online and at the door. Kids 12 & under are FREE but must be accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket for the event. \nNo refunds unless cancelled by Kinstone due to weather. \nPay at the door is possible and must be in cash and exact change! Advanced payment is preferred. \n*IMPORTANT:  This is a family friendly\, alcohol free\, smoke free event! \nSTUFF TO BRING: Bring your own chair\, reclining lawn chair\, blankets\, pillows\, or mats for your comfort. Bring a flashlight\, dress for the weather\, and wear sturdy walking shoes. Bring something to protect yourself from any mosquitoes or other biting insects as they become more active after sunset.  Bring your printed ticket with you for admission! If paying at the door\, bring $20 in CASH; correct change please. \nWhen you arrive\, park in one of our two parking areas and then walk to the Great Stone Circle. Find a place to sit and wait for someone to come around to collect your ticket or your cash for participating in this event. Enjoy! If you arrive after the music has begun\, please be extra quiet as you get settled. If you bring children with you\, please ensure that they stay with you at all times and maintain quiet voices. \nThis event will be cancelled in case of bad weather; if that happens\, your ticket will be refunded; otherwise\, there are NO REFUNDS. \nCancellation notices will be posted not later than one hour before the scheduled start time of the event; they will be posted here on the website as well as on Facebook on the corresponding event page. \n\nThomas Roberts \nThomas (“Tom”) Roberts has gained widespread recognition in the field of health and healing as an and educator\, speaker and author who translates ancient mindfulness techniques into practical strategies that people can use in their everyday lives to be healthier\, happier\, and more fulfilled. Tom has nearly 50 years of experience as a licensed clinical psychotherapist. He has been an adjunct professor at Viterbo University in La Crosse\, WI and St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud\, MN\, where he has taught mind-body healing\, integrative medicine and other mindfulness related topics. He has been a practicing Zen Buddhist for nearly 50 years. In 1992 he received lay Buddhist vows from Thich Nhat Hanh. Based in La Crosse\, Wisconsin\, Tom offers contemplative and meditation retreats and workshops at centers locally and throughout the United States. He is the author of The Mindfulness Workbook: A guide to overcoming fear and embracing compassion (New Harbinger Press\, 2009). \n  \nKaren Lee \nVocalist Karen Lee has been crooning for a lifetime.  Originally a La Crosse native\, Karen has returned home after spending 20 years in Portland and La Grande OR\, and nearly a decade in NYC. Karen’s passion for singing has led her down various musical avenues. Her musical career began as folk singer/songwriter in the 70’s\, which evolved into country rock\, blues and swing\, rhythm and blues\, and later into jazz and improvisation. In her early musical adventures\, Karen laid down many miles of life on the road. Embracing cultural diversity and life’s experiences enhanced Karen’s musical expression as a vocal soloist.  And she has been a frequent band member who has often arranged and sang intricate harmonies.  All of her travels gave rise to live performances\, recordings and many other musical opportunities. Karen’s vocal sound continues to evolve. Her voice has been described as that of a rich and sultry ballad and blues singer that can belt out a strong as sassy R&B tune yet is able to sing the intimate style of a bossa nova.

SUMMARY:September New Moon Women's Circle
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT:  DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID-19 SITUATION\, WE WILL ONLY HOLD THIS EVENT OUTDOORS AND ONLY IF THE WEATHER PERMITS. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE AND ON THE CORRESPONDING FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES. THANK YOU! \nKinstone Women’s Circle is a Sister Circle! We are part of the Global Sisterhood. \nDate: Friday\, September 10\, 2021  Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm  (fyi: actual New Moon was on Sept 6) \n\nSeptember Theme: The Great Mother: I am her daughter\, Holy and Sovereign\n\nAstrology: Virgo (Earth sign\, ruled by Mercury) \nKeywords: Blessings\, harmony\, luck\, positive energy\, uplift\, intuition\, spiritual guidance\, care for others\, relaxation \n\nThoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month (modified from provided Global Sisterhood resources): \nGlobally\, we are at a time when issues of inequality\, income disparity\, oppression\, racism\, climate change\, sexism and violence are at the forefront of our conversations as a human family.  We are trying to course correct\, and that’s no simple task. We can talk about the macro world systems and challenges all day.  We can talk about the damage of colonialism or capitalism\, and we can talk about everything that is wrong with our world\, but that’s not where the deeper\, more impactful work exists. The work is within each of us – it all starts within. \n4\,000 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 came into being. Before that time\, we understood Nature as our Mother and all revered the feminine. This myth is about a woman who was created secondary to man and that the woman\, in her natural curiosity and desire\, sinned by tasting the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Humanity has been damned to live in sin since. Unmeasured damage has taken place from this distorted myth created by men alone. For thousands of years ancient theologians interpreted this myth to mean that women are less than men. But another turn of the spiral is taking place\, and we are collectively awakening to the damage this myth has created on the consciousness of men and women and to the very fabric of our societies around the planet. We must unlearn these myths that have seeded deeply below the surface of our awareness and reclaim the truth that Man and Woman are the children of Nature\, each one holy and sovereign. You and I are daughters of the Great Mother\, we are holy and each of us is sovereign. \nIt’s time to get honest\, cut the cords of behaviors and myths that drain our power\, and reclaim our sovreignity inherited from the Great Mother. \nSome questions for contemplation / inspiration for sharing this month: \n\n\n\nWhat were you taught about women\, the Goddess\, the concept of the Divine Feminine or feminine power?\nAs a young person\, were you told that you must fit into certain roles as a woman? If so\, what roles? Did your own ideas for yourself align with them?\nIf you could share a truth with every child in the world that they would then take to heart and embody\, what would it be?\nWhat would you do with your life if you could do anything\, and other people’s opinions did not affect you at all?\nWhat activities in your life make you feel most wild\, free\, and connected to your primal power?\nCreate your own question / reflection.\n\n\n\nPlace:  Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, Wisconsin 54629 \nCost: Admission to Kinstone ($5/person) Pay in Advance or Bring Cash with you (exact change\, please) \nIMPORTANT: Come prepared to share! We post “On-Your-Own Events” for these months with insights and information you can use to honor the new moon on your own. \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck

SUMMARY:August New Moon Women's Circle
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT:  DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID-19 SITUATION\, WE WILL ONLY HOLD THIS EVENT OUTDOORS AND ONLY IF THE WEATHER PERMITS. IF IT IS RAINING WE MAY MEET ON THE PORCH. IF IT IS STORMING\, WE MAY CANCEL. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE AND ON THE CORRESPONDING FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES. THANK YOU! \nKinstone Women’s Circle is a Sister Circle! We are part of the Global Sisterhood. A Sister Circle is a safe and sacred place where we can get real\, share our journeys\, insights\, and stories. All women are invited to join in our circle\, especially women who desire to create supportive relationships with other women\, women who are feeling overwhelmed or stressed and are looking for some rejuvenation\, and women who are looking for ways to find and express the Sacred in their daily lives. \nDate: Saturday\, August 7\, 2021  Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm (fyi: actual New Moon is Aug 8) \n\nAugust Theme: Fearlessly Me: I choose to be seen\n\nAstrology: Leo (Fire Sign)\, ruled by the Sun \nKeywords:  Courage\, loyalty\, leadership\, pride\, sincerity\, charisma\, passion\, authority\, warmth\, generous\, abundant\, active\, open\, enjoys being admired \n\nThoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month (modified from provided Global Sisterhood resources): \nSister\, you are a mosaic of your past experiences\, you are beautiful and worthy. As we face the injustices in our world and as we call out the illusions\, prejudices\, and illness of mind and spirit within our cultures\, we must remember that what we see outside of ourselves is also within ourselves. What we judge is also within us. What we find beautiful\, awe-inspiring and exquisite is also within us. \nIt is a time of MASSIVE individual healing on our planet which will reshape and rebirth our collective. In order for us to become shining diamonds\, made through the pressure and heaviness of this transformation\, we must OWN our part of the puzzle. We must own that we are powerful beyond measure and that our feelings are valid.  We must own that the feelings of others (even ones that contradict our own) are also valid.   Truth\, in many ways\, is subjective.  Truth takes many shapes. \nIf we don’t recognize that there is truth in subjectivity\, we will never unite as a human family. For this month’s theme\, Fearlessly Me\, we are going to practice OWNING our truths and the truths of others without judgement. \nHow can we train our nervous systems to walk in our truth\, own our power\, our fears\, our wounds\, our gifts\, and our desires and still be okay when others don’t see what we see? \nHow do we stay present when others might have opinions or thoughts about our actions or feelings that don’t resonate with our own? \nHow do we stay in curious-compassionate-love for others while LOVING ourselves and honoring ourselves\, too? \nHow do we stand for ourselves while still standing for others? \nThis month’s theme invites us to be wholly\, completely\, fearlessly ourselves. Together as a sisterhood\, we are coming out of hiding so that we can share our FULL expression with each other and the world. This is how we lead by example. Despite any fears we may have\, we choose to be seen! It’s time for the world to receive our gifts\, our love\, our brilliance\, our splendor\, and our stories. It’s time for us to show what vulnerable\, authentic leadership means. It’s time to step courageously into vulnerability in order to be seen — and to SHINE\, unhindered! \nSome questions for contemplation / inspiration for sharing this month: \n\n\n\nHow would you use your voice about edgy issues like racism or sexism if you were standing in your full multi-spectrum truth and being fully honest with yourself and others?\nWhat situation in your life would benefit from you allowing yourself to be more fully seen? What action could you take that could help you heal?\nDo you have a relationship in your life where you feel unsafe to be fully you? If so\, what is the story you are running in your head about that relationship and how can you change the narrative?\nWhat are you afraid to let be seen? Why? What happens when you share it with the group or a partner? How does it feel?\nWhat is something you are holding back from sharing with the world or the ones closest to you: socially\, professionally\, and emotionally.\nWhat is one of your gifts or talents that most people don’t know about? Tell us about a time you were courageously vulnerable\, or opened up instead of hiding. What happened? How did you feel?\nCreate your own question…\n\n\n\nPlace:  Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, Wisconsin 54629 \nCost: Admission to Kinstone ($5/person) Pay in Advance or Bring Cash with you (exact change\, please) \nNO MEAL IS PROVIDED. Plein air artists work to capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light\, color and movement into their art. \nFind out more about plein air painting and related events by visiting any of the following websites: \nWisconsin Plein Air Painters Association (WIPAPA) \nOutdoor Painters of Minnesota (OPM) \nPlein Air Painters of America (PAPA)

SUMMARY:July New Moon Women's Circle
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT:  KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE AND ON THE CORRESPONDING FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES. If the weather is bad and the group is not too large\, we may meet indoors. THANK YOU! \nKinstone Women’s Circle is a Sister Circle! We are part of the Global Sisterhood. A Sister Circle is a safe and sacred place where we can get real\, share our journeys\, insights\, and stories. \nDate: Friday\, July 9\, 2021  Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm  (fyi: actual New Moon is today! July 9!) \n\nJuly Theme: Ancestral Healing: I heal the past\, present\, and future\n\nAstrology: Cancer (a Water sign\, ruled by the Moon) \nKeywords: deep emotions\, empathy\, sensitivity\, intuition\, nurturing\, sentimental\, tender\, caring\, subconscious \n\nThoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month (modified from provided Global Sisterhood resources): \n“If we carry intergenerational trauma (and we do)\, then we also carry intergenerational wisdom. It’s in our genes and in our DNA.” – Kazu Haga \nOur ancestors are speaking loudly during this potent time on our planet\, calling us into healing on the deepest levels. Pain is arising to be healed in the lineages\, DNA\, and stories of all. Ancestral healing and connection is more important now than ever. As women on the path of healing\, this sacred work may be the most powerful gift we can offer to the world and to the generations to come. \nIt is time for us to rise into fierce love and to declare that the time for blindly perpetuating old patterns is over — within our families and lineages\, as well as in the collective. \nAs the New Moon is in the sign of Cancer\, we will take a moment to receive the gifts of this nurturing sign. Cancer embodies the energies of love\, harmony and sympathy and is gifted with a strong intuition and psychic powers. The New Moon is an opportunity to study old patterns\, ways of being and fundamental beliefs in order to discover new paths to growth. A time to re-set\, refresh and re-new! \nSome questions for contemplation / inspiration for sharing this month: \n\nHow would you describe your relationship with your ancestors?\nWhat patterns do you witness in your family that are also in you\, that you want to bring healing to?\nHow does your ancestry tie into your identity\, and affect how you move through life both personally and socially\nWhat privileges or challenges are related to your maternal and paternal lineages?\nHave you ever felt the presence of your ancestors? If so\, what did it feel like\, or what did it bring up for you?\nSomeday\, most of us will be ancestors. When you think forward to being an ancestor or an elder\, what wisdom would you pass on to future generations?\nWhen you close your eyes and feel\, what wisdom or guidance do you sense that your ancestors would want to give you?\nCreate your own question …\n\nPlace:  Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, Wisconsin 54629 \nCost: Admission to Kinstone ($5/person) Pay in Advance or Bring Cash with you (exact change\, please) \nNO MEAL IS PROVIDED. Feel free to bring your own meal to enjoy picnic style before the circle meeting. \nSaturday\, August 7 – Leo: Fearlessly Me: I choose to be seen (actual New Moon is August 8) \nFriday\, September 10 – Virgo: The Great Mother: I am her daughter\, Holy and Sovereign (actual New Moon is September 6) \nFriday\, October 8 – Libra: Restoring Balance: I heal the masculine and feminine within (actual New Moon is October 6) \nOn-Your-Own Event: Thursday\, November 4 – Scorpio: Sacred Sexuality: My pleasure\, my power  (If it is super nice weather we might schedule an in-person circle for Friday\, November 5 – keep an eye on this website and our FB page for updates on this.) \nOn-Your-Own Event: Saturday\, December  4 – Sagittarius: The Heroine’s Journey: I’m the one I’ve been waiting for \n\nReminder: There are no in person gatherings for the Kinstone New Moon women’s circles during November\, December\, January\, and February plus any months that weather or pestilence prevent us from gathering in person. We post “On-Your-Own Events” for these months with insights and information you can use to honor the new moon on your own. \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck
