Appropriate Technology is a mainstay principle of Permaculture. Come learn about the tool known as the SCYTHE.
Botan will teach about this fabulous tool and tell us why it is a must-have for anyone practicing Permaculture. We will learn how to use, care for and sharpen (peen) the scythe. Go home with a new skill!
We’ll be learning how to scythe with one of the best in the business! Botan Anderson will be at Kinstone Academy teaching us the basics of scything and using this tool in our permaculture practice. This one-day event will give us plenty of information as well as plenty of hands-on practice with the scythe. Lunch will be provided and will be suitable for omnivores and vegetarians; local and organic to the greatest extent possible. Botan will have scythes for sale at the end of the course.
Age Requirement: all participants must be 16 years of age or older. Children ages 16-17 may register with a registered adult.
Registration is required. Registrations will be accepted until June 24 or until the class is full, so, get signed up early!
Fee: $65 (includes the course and lunch)
