SUMMARY:The Labyrinth and the Creative Spirit Workshop
DESCRIPTION:*** NOTE: This event has been rescheduled to November 2\, 2024\nTHE LABYRINTH AND THE CREATIVE SPIRIT \nJoin Kathie Giorgio\, critically acclaimed author of novels\, story books\, essays and poetry as she presents an educational workshop on the use of the labyrinth as a tool to enhance and focus the creative process. \nThe labyrinth and the creative process go hand in hand. In this interactive workshop\, we will first take the time to define the four steps of the creative process: Preparation\, Incubation\, Illumination\, and Implementation. Then we will make these steps OUR steps – literally our footsteps – as we walk the labyrinth. \nAll who take this workshop are encouraged to have an interest in the arts\, particularly writing\, literary arts and visual arts. Each person will focus on an individual project. You do not have to have a specific\, pre-determined project\, and in fact\, it is better to come with an open mind as the labyrinth will help you arrive at an idea. Please don’t feel that you already have to be an artist or writer to do this – anyone with an interest is encouraged to participate. \nAfter the discussion of the creative process\, we will all walk the labyrinth. Upon reaching the center of the labyrinth\, participants will jot down notes or sketches of the images and thoughts they had on the spiral in. The walk from center back to the beginning is a focused time to let your idea(s) take shape. Upon stepping out of the labyrinth\, participants will start to formalize and work on their project – an art piece or written work – within the time allotted. \nAll participants will leave the workshop with a project well underway and helped on its way by turning our footsteps into the steps of the creative process. \nPre-registration is required\, as space is limited. The fee includes instruction and a selection of materials; the workshop is expected to fill. \nAlthough some art and writing materials will be provided\, please bring your preferred art supplies and/or whatever it is you like to write on. A sense of familiarity is often welcomed when working on something brand new. You are free to bring your own writing tools\, brushes\, charcoal or pastels\, or whatever you wish to work with\, and if you write\, feel free to bring your laptop or tablet or actual notebooks or paper and a favorite pen! \nPlease bring your own sack lunch. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for monthly Kinections through HEALING RITUALS on second Saturdays (May thru Oct). \n\n\n“Ritual is called for because our soul communicates things to us that the body translates as need\, or want\, or absence. So we enter into ritual in order to respond to the call of the soul.” \n― Malidoma Patrice Somé\, Ritual: Power\, Healing and Community\n\n\nJoin us for this monthly community healing ritual led by Erica Thibodeaux\, MS\, LPCC\, occurring on the second Saturday of each month May through October from 3pm to 6pm. \nNo experience necessary. Everyone is welcome. \nDuring these events\, we will come together and create a ritual that emerges from the rhythm of all who are gathered\, their current needs\, and the guidance and support of the elemental beings of the fire (ancestors)\, water\, earth\, nature\, and minerals. \nWhat gets created in group ritual arises out of the participants voices. Together\, we will create something NEW based on the relationships each participant carries with them into our circle from their own inner wisdom that may or may not be already known. \nThis event is highly participatory. Come drum and dance with the elements in the Great Stone Circle each month while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \n\nJoin us for this monthly drum and freestyle dance experience led by Cheri Bunker\, occurring on the second Friday of each month starting in June and going through October from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome. \nTogether we will explore how the natural elements show up in our own movements. Freestyle dance and movement can unlock so much tension in the body and restore in us a sense of balance\, peace and self worth. DESCRIPTION:Kinstone + Connections = Kinections!\nAre you looking for more opportunities to deepen your connections to self and others? Come drum and dance with the elements in the Great Stone Circle each month while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \n\nJoin us for this monthly drum and freestyle dance experience led by Cheri Bunker\, occurring on the second Friday of each month starting in June and going through October from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome. \nTogether we will explore how the natural elements show up in our own movements. Freestyle dance and movement can unlock so much tension in the body and restore in us a sense of balance\, peace and self worth. We will have a sacred space set up to hold objects representing the element for the month. You will also have an opportunity to get your chakras grounded with healing vibrations while standing in a large singing bowl and/or choose a sound bath where you will be drenched in focused sound vibrations as you sit in front of a massive gong. \nIf skies are clear you will be able to see the (nearly) full moon rise over the rim of the world and over the standing stones of Kinstone. So we enter into ritual in order to respond to the call of the soul.” \n― Malidoma Patrice Somé\, Ritual: Power\, Healing and Community\n\n\nJoin us for this monthly community healing ritual led by Erica Thibodeaux\, MS\, LPCC\, occurring on the second Saturday of each month May through October from 3pm to 6pm. \nNo experience necessary. DESCRIPTION:“The healing properties of a drum are found in the elements that make it: wood and animal hide. Making personal frame drums is a journey that is individually and spiritually meaningful… The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of life; the heartbeat of community. It is not simply an art form\, but a tool for cleansing\, centering and focusing one’s intentions for health and happiness.” ~ Wayne Manthey \n\n\nIn this educational workshop you will make your own one-sided drum. When people create their own drums they can’t help but develop deep connections to it. The drum you create becomes an extension of yourself and a gateway to greater understanding of your connection to all. \nMaking your own drum is a journey that you will remember for the rest of your life. It takes about 4 hours to make your drum. \n\n\n\nClass size is limited so each person can get enough individual attention during the workshop. All you need to do is show up with a bit of curiosity and a desire to have a drum of your own. That’s all you need\, really! \n\n\nWe start with a pre-constructed frame\, deer hides\, and a bucket of walnut stain. First\, you choose your frame\, lay out the hides\, and take a few moments of reflection to connect to this medium. After cutting out the drum circles\, Wayne will lead the group one step at a time\, through the rest of the process. All you need is to be there and do it! \n\nThere are no words that can completely describe what it feels like to make your own drum. DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: 8/17/2024 12:50pm: NO EVENT SATURDAY 8/17 DUE TO PREDICTED RAIN\, THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD ON THE PLANNED RAINDATE – SUNDAY\, 8/18/2024!  FOR ALL TICKET HOLDERS and ANYONE COMING TO PAY AT THE DOOR –  THIS EVENT IS NOW SUNDAY\, AUGUST 18!!  REMINDER: There are no refunds unless it is cancelled on the raindate as well. \nDue to the popularity of this experience\, we are offering this event twice this year – we hope to see you there! \nAt this nighttime event\, watch the sunset\, relax with sacred sounds of rare Tibetan singing bowls\, huge gongs and Native American flute to experience a full immersion sound bath in the Great Stone Circle while the moon rises!  Bring your favorite crystal with you to charge it up with all this high vibe energy. You will also have an opportunity to get your chakras grounded with healing vibrations while standing in a large singing bowl and/or choose a sound bath where you will be drenched in focused sound vibrations as you sit in front of a massive gong. \nIf skies are clear you will be able to see the (nearly) full moon rise over the rim of the world and over the standing stones of Kinstone. SUMMARY:Self-Illumination Through Art and Words
DESCRIPTION:SELF–ILLUMINATION THROUGH ART AND WORDS\nCalling all humans! If you are a seeker\, someone who wants to find out more about yourself\, and find a way to express who you really are\, then this is a sure path to that end. We will be creative\, artistic and we will use our words. No experience necessary! In one six-hour workshop\, we will delve into ourselves and create a work that uses both art and writing as a form of self-expression and self-knowledge and self-illumination. \nYou will be presented with a plain Styrofoam mannequin head and a lot of decorative choices such as beads\, feathers\, paints\, sequins\, buttons\, you name it. You can even bring your own materials to use if you want. You will look at the mannequin as if it is a mirror and you will create the one you see there – yes\, yourself. \nAfter lunch (bring your own!) and some discussion\, you will write to that reflection. Any words you choose will be the right words – they may be poetry\, memoir\, possibly even fiction (if you feel that who you are requires a mask).  At the end\, you will walk out of this workshop with a better sense of who you are and what you can accomplish in your life. You will have gained new insights and you may feel more settled\, peaceful and firmly on your way. \nYou don’t need to be an artist to join in. You don’t need to be a writer to be a part of this. You just need to be YOU. All you need to be is…human! \nPlease bring your own sack lunch. It is a safe and sacred space where we embrace the gifts of the new moon to begin anew\, identify our dreams and set our intentions during the clean slate of the dark sky. All women are invited to join in our circle who are looking for ways to find and express the Sacred in their daily lives and be part of a spiritual community. \nIn Circle\, we create a unique ceremony where all are invited to participate to each person’s comfort level. We share a ceremonial opening where we honor nature\, spirits\, guide and ancestors. We join together in a group heart meditation\, followed by a time for personal sharing – stories\, poems\, and more. There is time for journaling\, setting intentions and creating a simple ritual related to the theme of the month. In this space we are free to celebrate our individuality as well as our collective strength\, fearlessness\, nurturing\, healing and gifts. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for weekly Kinections through Yoga on MONDAYS in the Stone Circle from June 3rd to October 7th! \n\nJoin us for yoga among the standing stones of the Great Stone Circle with Jennifer Monsos (a.k.a. YogaJen or Jen).  Jen is an experienced yoga teacher who loves to help others on their wellness journey. \nThe energy exchange happening within Kinstone during time is so important. The more who join in\, the more connections can be made and deepened. Come on\, join in\, and make a “kinection”! \nWHEN:  weekly on Mondays from 10am – 11am from June 3rd through October 7th \nCOST:  This experience is donation based + the entrance fee to Kinstone ($10). Our hope is to keep these accessible to any who are feeling the call to move and do yoga with us. Consider purchasing a Season Pass to Kinstone if you plan to attend these events regularly – inquire about this in the Gift Shop! No registration is required for yoga.  \nWhat to bring: water bottle\, mat and/or blanket\, chair or cushion\, sunscreen\,  insect repellent\, and any other items you wish for your comfort. \nLocation/Meeting Area: The group will meet in the Great Stone Circle as a general rule. If it is raining\, the group will meet under the pavilion of the Dragon’s Keep or inside the Chapel of Creation depending upon the number of participants. If there is thunder\, lightning\, or high winds\, the event will be cancelled. \nCome early and wander the grounds\, visit your favorite standing stones\, and get inspired. \n\nAbout your leader \nJennifer Monsos\, called YogaJen or Jen\, is a mother of three (now adults) and has taught yoga since 2002 (over 3500 hours of classes) to a crazy variety of people. From the tiniest of humans with their moms in mommy and me classes\, to folks in assisting living and nursing homes. She is trained to provide trauma-informed yoga classes\, so everyone can participate and feel welcome and safe.  Jen also owned a local / whole food restaurant and is a CPA who is totally comfortable doing taxes\, finances and accounting! Besides teaching yoga she loves to teach everyone to be able to cook quick and easy foods as well as set up budgets\, businesses\, and become debt free.
