SUMMARY:New Moon Awakening: The Celestial Sisterhood
DESCRIPTION:The New Moon Women’s Circle that has been held here at Kinstone since 2016 is evolving!  Check out this amazing fresh new name\, leader\, and look! We are so excited to see all of you again – around the fire under the new moon starting on May 30! \nNew Moon Awakening: The Celestial Sisterhood is a monthly women’s gathering held at Kinstone generally on the Friday closest to the New Moon in the same month. Under the embrace of the new moon\, this event\, facilitated by Sierra Lynn of Yog Collective\, invites women into a profound exploration of self and sisterhood here at this sacred stone sanctuary where the wisdom of the earth and the cosmos is embodied. \nIn this sacred space\, we will experience: \n\nIntentional movement that harmonizes our bodies with the rhythms of nature\, awakening our innate energy and grounding our spirits.\nGuided breathwork to deepen our connection to the divine within\, inviting clarity and the release of old patterns as we prepare to set our intentions of rebirth.\nEmotive dialogue\, to honor each woman’s story\, fostering a rich tapestry of shared experiences and insights. Our connection practices will cultivate a deep sense of unity\, allowing us to celebrate the power of vulnerability and the strength found in sisterhood.\n\nCloaked in the elements and held by the fire\, we close our gathering with meaningful ritual\, aligning our intentions with the lunar cycle and invoking the transformative energy of the new moon. Join us here for a journey of awakening and renewal\, as we embrace the magic of the new moon and the celestial sisterhood that binds us all. \n\nMonthly schedule: generally the Friday closest to the new moon from May through October \nDates: May 30\, June 27\, July 25\, August 22\, September 19\, and October 24 \nTime: 6:30pm – 8:30pm \nLocation: Around the Fire in the Stargazer Circle at KINSTONE\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, Wisconsin 54629 \nCost: These monthly new moon gatherings are donation based PLUS the entrance fee to Kinstone ($10). \nOur hope is to keep these accessible to any women who are feeling the call to community and celestial sisterhood. If the cost of entrance to Kinstone is prohibitive\, please reach out\, we have a scholarship fund for those in need. Consider a Season Pass to Kinstone if you plan to attend these and/or other Kinstone admission+ donation-based events regularly! \nNo pre-registration  is required; just show up with your Kinstone admission (pay in the Visitor Center before the event or check in at the Visitor Center if you have paid in advance or have your season pass) and a free-will donation for your facilitator (cash is appreciated and will be collected by the facilitator during the event). \nThe Visitor Center will be kept open on New Moon Awakening evenings until at least 6:45pm to accommodate folks coming in for these events. SUMMARY:World Labyrinth Day Walk as One at 1 - Group Labyrinth Walk
DESCRIPTION:Come walk the Kinstone Labyrinth with Kristine on World Labyrinth Day.  This is simply a group labyrinth walk to promote peace around the world. No special programming is planned. Join us! \nWe will walk the outdoor 7-circuit classical labyrinth as a group at 1pm. The labyrinth is located down a hill; be prepared to walk a relatively steep grassy path downhill and then back up again afterwards. There will be paper finger labyrinths available in the Visitor Center for anyone interested in participating by tracing a finger labyrinth instead or coloring one with our various art supplies. This is a free event; however\, if you plan to stay and enjoy the grounds of Kinstone before or after the walk\, please pay general admission ($10/person) in the Visitor Center upon arrival. \nWorld Labyrinth Day is an annual event sponsored by The Labyrinth Society\, always occurring on the first Saturday of May. It is a worldwide action with participants gathering at labyrinths at 1:00pm local time to “Walk as One at One” to co-create a rolling wave of peaceful energy across the globe. Every year on this day thousands of people around the world participate in this moving meditation for world peace. \nBring your kids\, family\, friends! No registration required. \nThis is a free event. However\, if you plan to stay and walk the grounds of Kinstone beyond the labyrinth walk\, please pay your admission to Kinstone in advance online or pay in the Kinstone Visitor Center when you arrive. \nWhat: Group Labyrinth Walk \nWhere:  Kinstone Labyrinth\, at Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, WI\, 54629 – Directions Here \nWhen:  Saturday\, May 3\, 2025\, 12:45pm  (Arrive by 12:45pm so you have enough time to get to the labyrinth by 1:00! The walk will begin promptly at 1:00pm.) \nCost:  FREE   (Please note\, if you plan to stay and walk the grounds of Kinstone beyond participating in the labyrinth walk\, please pay your admission to Kinstone in advance online or pay in the Kinstone Visitor Center when you arrive.) \nNo Registration Required \nThis event will be held Rain or Shine! Dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes! Having said that\, if it is storming with thunder\, lightning and/or high winds\, please take shelter and wait to walk until the storm has passed. \nImportant: The Kinstone Labyrinth is located down a steep hill and may not be accessible for persons who have difficulty walking hills and uneven terrain. If you are unable or would prefer not to walk\, we have labyrinth designs printed on paper that folks can use as finger labyrinths. You can pick up a paper labyrinth in the Visitor Center. Use it in the Visitor Center or take it with you to use at home. Thank you!! \nWORLD LABYRINTH DAY = MAY 3\, 2025 \nAs stated by The Labyrinth Society\, there are many ways to participate: \n\nWalk a labyrinth at 1:00PM local time to co-create a rolling wave of peace passing from one time zone to the next around the globe.\nWalk alone or with others\nLet your fingers do the walking by using a finger labyrinth\nDo a virutal walk via Zoom with friends and family\nCreate labyrinth art\nBuild a permanent or temporary labyrinth\n\nWhat is a labyrinth?  It is a single path\, of ancient geometric form\, leading the walker in to a center and back out again. The meandering nature of the path is a metaphor for life experience or perhaps a reflection of our desire to be grounded and find our way to “center” (i.e. become centered). A labyrinth is not to be confused with a maze. A maze is a problem to be solved and designed to create confusion and often frustration. The labyrinth is designed to provide calm\, clarity\, and harmony. The form of the labyrinth is ancient; it spans thousands of years and has been found on every continent except Antarctica. \nHunt for labyrinths wherever you roam by searching the “World Wide Labyrinth Locator” – check it out: how many can you find in your state? how about in your zip code? You may be surprised!

SUMMARY:First Sunrise of Spring - Vernal Equinox Morning Observance
DESCRIPTION:First Sunrise of Spring – Equinox Morning Observance          Watch the First Rays of Spring Sun Enlighten the Heart Stone \nNote: this sunrise event is scheduled for the day of Equinox; note that our sunset event is on the day before Equinox! \nWeather and snow conditions permitting\, we will be outdoors as we stand and watch the sunrise. If the weather is bad (i.e. winter storms)\, we will cancel – watch for cancellation updates (if any) on the day of the event.  \nThe actual time of Equinox is 4:01am CDT on this date\, so this is the time to witness the first sunrise of Spring! \nAt Kinstone we have a unique alignment visible only at Equinox at sunrise\, we call it The Heart Alignment. Stand with us in The Three Witnesses sculpture as the sun aligns through the Equinox Window and highlights the Heart Stone. Come and see! \nVernal (Spring) Equinox is an astronomically significant solar event. It occurs when the sun is midpoint in its journey from Winter Solstice to Summer Solstice. The sun appears to rise at due east and set at due west. It is traditionally seen as a time of balance. The light of day and the dark of night are equal. It is the herald of spring; a time for new beginnings\, growth\, and seeking the joy of the light. \nCOST: admission to Kinstone\, $10/person\, (pay in advance online OR pay in person in the Kinstone Visitor Center upon arrival – please arrive early enough to do that before proceeding to the location of the event in time for the event to begin). No Registration Required. \nDate: Thursday\, March 20\, 2025  Time: 6:30am – 8:00am \nCome at 6:30 to enjoy the predawn horizons and our brief program before we stand to watch the sun arrive. \nWe will gather in the center of The Three Witnesses sculpture at Kinstone. Given fair weather and clear skies\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and beams through the Equinox Window to light up the heart of the middle standing stone\, known as the “Heart Stone”. Given cloudy weather\, we will not see the sunrise\, but will greet it ceremoniously regardless. \n\n\nThis will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading to welcome Spring. After the reading\, if the sun is visible\, participants may wish to watch the alignment through the Equinox Window\, see the heart highlighted in the center stone Witness\, sit in the light of the sun\, take photos\, and greet the sunrise. \nDress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, jackets\, scarves\, hats and gloves! Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on\, for your comfort\, if you wish. Be prepared for it to be breezy and cool up here on the ridge! (Many people underestimate the wind and cold.) \nThis event is outdoors and will be held only in good weather. If it is raining or snowing\, this event will be cancelled.  Cancellations will be posted only on this event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page at least four (4) hours before the scheduled start time for this event. \n\nTRADITIONAL INFO: The Celtic Wheel of the Year and other pagan traditions call this day “Ostara”. Ostara originates from celebrations dedicated to the German goddess Eostre. This is considered to be a precursor to the Christian celebration of Easter. The beginning of spring\, Vernal Equinox / Ostara is a good time to plant seeds – both literally and figuratively. This is also a good time to begin acting on the intentions you set during Winter Solstice (Yule\, Dec 2o-22) and St. Brigid’s Day (Imbolc\, Feb 1). The seeds you plant at Vernal Equinox/Ostara will be ready for harvest during the warmer months and the sacred days of  May Day (Beltane\, May 1-5)\, Summer Solstice (Litha\, June 20-22) and  celebrations of the first harvest (Lughnasadh\, August 1). \nHAPPY SPRING! \nActual sunrise is expected at 7:09am for our location. However\, with the topography specific to Kinstone\, the time we witness it in our sunrise alignment is always just a bit later. \nInteresting fact: The exact time of the astronomical Vernal Equinox is Thursday\, March 20\, 2025\, at 4:01am CDT.   \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck

SUMMARY:Last Sunset of Winter – Vernal Equinox Evening Observance
DESCRIPTION:Update 3/19/2025 2:30pm: This event has been POSTPONED! Due to the winter storm and continued snow forecasted until 7pm tonight\, this event has been postponed until Thursday\, March 20 at 6:15pm.\n\n  \nLast Sunset of Winter – Vernal Equinox Evening Observance \nCatch the Last Rays of Winter Sun at the Equinox Sunset Alignment at Kinstone! \n\nNote: this sunset alignment event is intentionally scheduled for the day before the actual day of Equinox; however\, our sunrise alignment event is scheduled for the day of Equinox. \n\nWeather and snow conditions permitting\, we will be outdoors as we stand and watch the sunset. If the weather is bad\, we will cancel – watch for cancellation updates (if any) on the day of the event.  \nThe actual time of Equinox is 4:01 am CDT on Thursday\, March 20th – so this is the time to witness the last sunset of Winter! \nAt Kinstone we have a unique alignment visible only at Equinox at sunset. Stand with us and the Enlightenment Stones (Atlas and Lancelot) as the sun aligns to shine through the perforations in Lancelot and cast a line of bright points of light onto Atlas. Come and see! \nSpring (Vernal) Equinox is an astronomically significant solar event. It occurs when the sun is midpoint in its journey from Winter Solstice to Summer Solstice. The sun appears to rise at due east and set at due west. It is traditionally seen as a time of balance. The light of day and the dark of night are equal. It is a herald of spring; a time for new beginnings\, growth\, and seeking the joy of the light. \nCOST: admission to Kinstone\, $10/person\, (pay in advance online OR pay in person in the Kinstone Visitor Center upon arrival – please arrive early enough to do that before proceeding to the location of the alignment and still get there before the event begins). No Registration Required. \nDate: Wednesday\, March 19\, 2025   Time: 6:15pm – 7:30pm \nCome early and enjoy the last light of winter before the sun sets. \n\n\nThis will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading to send Winter off with a flourish. Given fair weather and clear skies as the sun sets in the West\, we will witness the light as it passes through the “Wise One” (Lancelot) and enlightens the “World” (Atlas). If the sunlight is strong enough and unobstructed by clouds on the horizon\, we will see the alignment and some of us attending may be able to “catch the sun”. We will begin watching for opportunities to Catch the Sun immediately after our readings. \nDress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, jackets\, scarves\, hats and gloves. Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on\, for your comfort\, if you wish. Be prepared for it to be breezy and cool up here on the ridge (many people underestimate the wind and cold). \nThis event is outdoors and will be held only in good weather. If it is raining or snowing\, this event will be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted only on this event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page at least four (4) hours before the scheduled start time for this event. \n\nIMPORTANT:  Anyone attending can try to “catch the sun” on a first-come basis. As many as we can get through will be given a chance to be photographed with their hands catching the sun – bring a friend who can be your photographer! \n\nHAPPY SPRING! \nActual sunset is expected to occur at 7:16pm for our location on this date. However\, with the topography specific to Kinstone\, the time we witness it is always just a bit earlier than expected. Also\, the alignment is seen starting around 30 minutes prior to the actual setting of the sun. \n The exact time of the astronomical Vernal Equinox is Thursday\, March 20\, 2025\, at 4:01am CDT.  \nPhoto credit: Kristine Beck

SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Sunrise Observance
DESCRIPTION:This event will be held as scheduled as long as the weather is reasonably good. We will be outdoors as we stand and watch the sunrise. If the weather is bad (i.e. winter storm)\, we will cancel – watch for cancellation updates (if any) by 10pm the night before the event.  \nCome acknowledge the Winter Solstice by watching the sunrise with us and standing in the alignment in the Great Stone Circle. This will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading to help us welcome Winter and send Autumn on its way with blessings. Join us to celebrate as Autumn passes  the seasonal “baton” to Winter. \nCOST: admission to Kinstone (pay in advance online OR pay in person at the Kinstone Visitor Center upon arrival); No Registration Required \nDate: Saturday\, December 21\, 2024  Time: 7:00am – 8:00am \nWHAT TO BRING: feel free to bring a poem about winter\, winter solstice\, snow\, or other winter theme to share. \nIMPORTANT:  We will gather at 7am in the Kinstone Visitor Center. Depending on snow levels and weather we will determine exactly where we will hold the short program that is scheduled to start at 7:10am. If possible\, we will gather around a blazing fire in the Stargazer Circle. If it is too cold and/or there is too much snow on the ground\, we may instead gather inside the building or around a smaller fire near the Porch of the Visitor Center. Thank you in advance for your patience as we figure out exactly where to be for the program portion. \nWeather and snow conditions permitting\, we will proceed together from the short program area to the center of the Great Stone Circle. Given fair weather and clear skies\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and beams through the Chair Stones into the center of the Circle. \nNote: Actual sunrise is at 7:38am and given the topography at Kinstone it will be closer to 7:50am when we can see the sun from the center of the circle on a clear day. \nDress in layers! We may be indoors for part of this and then proceed outdoors later. Bring what winter gear you need for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\, boots\, scarves\, hats\, extra layers and gloves. Expect it to be colder and windier than you think. In snowy years\, be prepared to walk some distance through snow and on uneven (perhaps icy – or muddy\, slippery) paths to get to the circle. \nParking may be very limited if there is snow on the ground.  If there is not much snow\, please park in the grassy parking area known as the Riverview Parking Area. If there is a lot of snow\, we will be limited to parking in the small lot by the Visitor Center (Staff Parking area). If this is the case\, please park as closely to others as possible to make enough room for all. Note: we highly discourage parking along the road\, however; if you absolutely must park along the road due to snow in our Staff and Visitor Parking areas\, please make sure you put on your 4-way flashing lights while parked there for this short event and do not park in front of any neighbors’ property or driveways. \nThis event is planned to be held outdoors.  It will be cancelled in case of snow storm or bad weather. Please note that we will not see the alignment if it is cloudy or if the horizon is obstructed by morning mist\, fog\, rain\, snow or clouds. If it is raining or snowing heavily we will cancel.  Cancellations will be posted on this event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page as soon as we can reasonably decide based on weather reports – but at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time for this event. \nInteresting fact: The exact time of the astronomical Winter Solstice this year is Saturday\, December 21\, 2024 at 3:20am CST. \n(Photo credit: Kristine Beck\, Winter Solstice Sunrise Observance\, Dec 21\, 2023. SUMMARY:The Labyrinth and the Creative Spirit Workshop
DESCRIPTION:*** NOTE: This event has been rescheduled to November 2\, 2024\nTHE LABYRINTH AND THE CREATIVE SPIRIT \nJoin Kathie Giorgio\, critically acclaimed author of novels\, story books\, essays and poetry as she presents an educational workshop on the use of the labyrinth as a tool to enhance and focus the creative process. \nThe labyrinth and the creative process go hand in hand. In this interactive workshop\, we will first take the time to define the four steps of the creative process: Preparation\, Incubation\, Illumination\, and Implementation. Then we will make these steps OUR steps – literally our footsteps – as we walk the labyrinth. \nAll who take this workshop are encouraged to have an interest in the arts\, particularly writing\, literary arts and visual arts. Each person will focus on an individual project. You do not have to have a specific\, pre-determined project\, and in fact\, it is better to come with an open mind as the labyrinth will help you arrive at an idea. Please don’t feel that you already have to be an artist or writer to do this – anyone with an interest is encouraged to participate. \nAfter the discussion of the creative process\, we will all walk the labyrinth. Upon reaching the center of the labyrinth\, participants will jot down notes or sketches of the images and thoughts they had on the spiral in. The walk from center back to the beginning is a focused time to let your idea(s) take shape. Upon stepping out of the labyrinth\, participants will start to formalize and work on their project – an art piece or written work – within the time allotted. \nAll participants will leave the workshop with a project well underway and helped on its way by turning our footsteps into the steps of the creative process. \nPre-registration is required\, as space is limited. The fee includes instruction and a selection of materials; the workshop is expected to fill. \nAlthough some art and writing materials will be provided\, please bring your preferred art supplies and/or whatever it is you like to write on. A sense of familiarity is often welcomed when working on something brand new. SUMMARY:2nd Saturday Monthly Community Healing Ritual
DESCRIPTION:Kinstone + Connections = Kinections!\nAre you looking for more opportunities to deepen your connections to self and others? Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for monthly Kinections through HEALING RITUALS on second Saturdays (May thru Oct). \n\n\n“Ritual is called for because our soul communicates things to us that the body translates as need\, or want\, or absence. So we enter into ritual in order to respond to the call of the soul.” \n― Malidoma Patrice Somé\, Ritual: Power\, Healing and Community\n\n\nJoin us for this monthly community healing ritual led by Erica Thibodeaux\, MS\, LPCC\, occurring on the second Saturday of each month May through October from 3pm to 6pm. \nNo experience necessary. Everyone is welcome. \nDuring these events\, we will come together and create a ritual that emerges from the rhythm of all who are gathered\, their current needs\, and the guidance and support of the elemental beings of the fire (ancestors)\, water\, earth\, nature\, and minerals. \nWhat gets created in group ritual arises out of the participants voices. Together\, we will create something NEW based on the relationships each participant carries with them into our circle from their own inner wisdom that may or may not be already known. \nThis event is highly participatory. You are asked to arrive with an open heart and mind and a willingness to learn from the Elements themselves\, as well as willingness to support your fellow participants. Alcohol and drug use are not allowed during these events. \nCost: These rituals are donation based + the entrance fee to Kinstone ($10). Our hope is to keep these accessible to any who are feeling the call to community and nature-based healing. If the cost of entrance to Kinstone is prohibitive\, please reach out\, we have a scholarship fund for those in need. \nThe energy exchange happening within Kinstone during time is so important. The more who join in\, the more connections can be made and deepened. Come on\, join in\, and make a “kinection”! \n\nMonthly dates / themes; always the second Saturday of the month: \nMay 11 – Dreaming with the Ancestors (FIRE)\nJune 8 – Grief\, Peace\, and Reconciliation (WATER)\nJuly 13 – Purpose and Presence (MINERAL)\nAugust 10 – Mother of Us All (EARTH)\nSeptember 14 – Re-wildling: All Our Relations (NATURE)\nOctober 12 – Dreaming with the Ancestors (FIRE)\n\nAbout the leader: \nErica Thibodeaux\, MS\, LPCC\, is a licensed professional counselor in private practice Winona\, MN. Erica has taught mindfulness meditation in diverse settings such as universities\, corporate environments\, and local organizations.  She uses creative and empowering methods to evoke client-centered transformation and provide individuals\, couples\, and families with tools to take and use over their lifetime. Some of the methods she uses are group and community ritual facilitation\, somatic and body-centered therapy\, focusing\, spiritual re-wilding\, earth and nature-based therapy\, and Indigenous African technologies. Ritual is at the core of all that she offers. \nErica’s awareness and knowledge of ritual and her relationships with the Elements have been inspired and encouraged by her teachers\, Dagara Elder Malidoma Somé and Elder Theresa Sykes Brittany.  Read more about Erica at her website https://ericathibodeaux.com/.

The rising (nearly) FULL MOON will be seen (weather permitting) as it climbs up from the eastern horizon while we welcome it with awe \nAccording to Frank\, the gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction. Gongs and singing bowls are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong or the bowl\, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs and bowls is about spiritual\, physical and emotional resolution. The sounds and frequencies help to open doors and windows onto the Universe\, moving around Universal energies and perhaps even usher the listener into a spiritual dimension. \nSecond Hour: Optional Chakra Grounding or Gong Bath\, each costs $5 extra in cash. Bring cash if you want to participate; first come first served. \n\nChakra Grounding\n\nExperience sound frequency healing while standing inside a large singing bowl\n\n\n\n\nGong Bath\n\nExperience sound frequency healing while sitting in front of a large gong\n\n\n\n*IMPORTANT:  This is a family friendly\, alcohol free\, smoke free event. \nWHAT TO BRING: Bring your own chair\, reclining lawn chair\, blankets\, pillows\, or mats for your comfort.
