Come experience the beauty of creative expression – join us for this introduction into the fun and creative world of Mandala Dot Art Painting on smooth river rocks! \nThis would be a great gift for anyone for Mother’s Day! \n\nCheri Bunker will guide us during this two hour creative workshop. Make your own painted mandala design on a smooth river rock. Paint one or more rocks in class. All supplies are provided and you will go home with your finished rock art. \nEach participant will get their own painting tool kit and three bottles of paint. You will be able to take home your painted rock(s) AND your painting tool kit and paints so you can use your new art skills to create more painted rocks or objects you may have at home at a later time. Place your painted rock(s) outside in your garden or inside your home. \nNo experience necessary. There is no right or wrong way to paint these works of art. The word “mandala” comes from Sanskrit\, meaning “circle”. The circle is seen as a magical form\, without beginning and without end. Circles represent unity\, eternity\, wholeness and perfection. Mandala dot paintings are geometric designs or patterns\, usually circular in nature and created with many small\, colorful dots. The act of creating mandala dot art can be very centering and calming and mandalas are often used as meditation tools. \n\nAbout your Instructor: \nCheri Bunker is a lifelong crafter and has over 20 years of experience presenting and facilitating many different types of classes and programs. She teaches mandala rock art classes\, spirit doll making classes\, Soul Collage ®\,  drumming and movement\, and other workshops! Come experience the beauty of creative expression – join us for this art workshop to create a nature spirit doll called a Kin Spirit that includes at least one item found in nature at Kinstone! \n\nCheri Bunker will guide us during this three hour creative workshop. All supplies and tools are provided for your use and you will go home with your finished Kin Spirit nature spirit doll. \nYou will create your very own Kin Spirit beginning with a guided meditation. Questions like\, “Who is my Kin Spirit?”\, “What does she/he represent?”\, and “What part of me does she/he embody?” will help shape the emerging spirit of the doll. \nYou will create your Kin Spirit using natural items such as twigs\, branches\, stems\, flowers\, fibers\, fabric\, stones\, botanicals\, shells\, and more. Items collected from Kinstone will be included in available supplies; however\, there will also be time for the group to go out into nature (weather permitting) to find a special item from the Kinstone Prairie or other parts of the Kinstone grounds to include in your Kin Spirit doll. \nThe limbs and body may be twigs\, tree branches or stems wrapped with your choice of fiber\, fabric or both. Fabric\, fibers\, shells\, stones\, botanicals\, or other items from nature can be used as embellishments. Prefabricated\, molded faces will be available to paint or you may choose one of the pre-painted air dried clay faces\, or other natural item you may find like a nut or stone. Crown your Kin Spirit with fiber or leaves or other natural hair in any way you feel is right: beautiful and flowing\, wild and frizzy\, short and soft\, spiky\, or any other way. If there is something special you would like to add to your own Kin Spirit doll\, please bring it with you! \nAll supplies are provided. The sky is the limit as to what you can create with the added energy of Kinstone. \nNo experience is necessary. There is no right or wrong way to create these beautiful works of art. Come explore the mysteries of your inner landscape while sharing energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \nJoin us for monthly Kinections through DRUMMING on first Tuesdays. \n\nEvery First Tuesday\, May through October\,  – yes\, even on the Fourth of July – join us for a drum circle in the Great Stone Circle; led by Cheri Bunker. Cheri is a trained drumming facilitator and has led many drum circles and programs that promote the positive effect of the drum on health. \nDrumming is an ancient practice that feeds the soul and the mind and is a great wellness tool with many documented health benefits. Join us outdoors in the midst of the energy of the Great Stone Circle. Each month we will do different types of drumming. For example\, one month may be all frame drums and another a mix of world drums and hand percussion; sometimes we may sit in a circle and other times we may move about or walk in rhythm. \nAbsolutely no drumming experience is necessary and if you do not have a drum\, one will be provided for you. If you do have a drum or hand percussion instrument\, please bring it along! Participants are encouraged to move freely within the circle with drums or dance to the primal beat. We will end each circle with a melodic rhythm meditation that is deeply moving. Please bring a chair or blanket for your comfort if you wish. \nThe energy exchange happening within Kinstone during time is so important. The more who join in\, the more connections can be made and deepened. Come on\, join in\, and make a “kinection”! \nNo registration is required. Rain or shine! \nWHEN:  first Tuesdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm \nLocation/Meeting Area: The group will meet in the Great Stone Circle as a general rule. If it is raining\, the group will meet under the pavilion of the Dragon’s Keep or inside the Chapel of Creation depending upon the number of participants. If there is thunder\, lightning\, or high winds\, the event will be cancelled. Come early and wander the grounds\, visit your favorite standing stones\, and get inspired. \nCOST:  This experience is donation based + the entrance fee to Kinstone ($10). Our hope is to keep these accessible to any who are feeling the call to drum with us. Consider a Season Pass to Kinstone if you plan to attend these events regularly!
