SUMMARY:Silver Apples of the Moon - Golden Apples of the Sun. Stories of Harvest
DESCRIPTION:Silver Apples of the Moon – Golden Apples of the Sun. \nStories of Harvest\nLughnasadh Stories Around the Fire\, Under the Stars\nSacred Storytelling with Storyteller\, Tracy Chipman\n\n\nGather together around the fire\, on the threshold of Lughnasadh/Lammas with the land in celebration for the upcoming harvest with Wisconsin storyteller\, Tracy Chipman. Set aside this time and join with us to hear sacred stories tuned to this season. \n\n\nLughnasadh\, also known as Lammas or Lughnasa\, is a an ancient Celtic seasonal festival that marks the beginning of the harvest season. Typically celebrated on August 1st\, it is a time to honor the first fruits of the harvest\, typically grain\, symbolizing the dwindling of summer and the slow transition into autumn. The festival is named after the Celtic god Lugh\, who is associated with the sun\, agriculture\, and craftsmanship. Lughnasadh is one of the four cross-quarter days in the Celtic Wheel of the Year\, marking the midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the Autumnal Equinox. \nStories and the art of storytelling transcend time and space; they are set deep in our bones. Our stories\, both ancient and new\, are transformational and absolutely essential to all life on this planet. They offer a way for us to develop the skills to listen more deeply\, share more authentically\, imagine more vividly – far beyond the programming of colonization\, and ultimately\, to find our way back to awe\, reverence and wonderment.  \n\n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, July 30\nTime: 6:30pm – 8:00pm  – PLEASE arrive at least 10 to 20 minutes early to get settled!\nLocation: Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, WI 54629 – the plan is to gather around the fire in the Stargazer Circle; however\, if rain or wind keep us from that\, we will meet around a smaller fire in the protection of the Porch on the Visitor Center or inside the Visitor Center if storming. \nCOST: $20/person \nPre-registration is required! Seats are limited so get your ticket early!
