SUMMARY:Full Moon Session in Sound at Kinstone
DESCRIPTION:Have you wondered what it is like at Kinstone at night? Here’s your chance to find out! \nAt this nighttime event\, you can watch the sunset\, relax with sacred sounds of Native American flutes\, rare Tibetan singing bowls\, and a full immersion Gong sound bath in the Great Stone Circle while the full moon rises\, then take a guided night-time walk around Kinstone in the moonlight!  Bring your favorite crystal with you to charge it up with all this high vibe energy! You will also have an opportunity to get your chakras grounded with healing sounds while standing in a large singing bowl and/or drench yourself in relaxing gong sound vibrations. \nIf skies are clear you will be able to see the full moon rise and then\, despite the brightness of the moon you may be able to  stargaze! Look for Mars\, Uranus\, Neptune\, Jupiter\, and Saturn. Maybe even spy a few meteors as the Southern Taurid Meteor Showers will be going on and may offer some fireballs and the Orionids start on Oct. 2nd so maybe we’ll get lucky and see some early! \nEVENT DETAILS \nWHEN:   Thursday\, October 1\, 2020 \nTIME:  7:00pm – 10:00pm \nNote: The sunset is at 6:45pm; the concert will begin promptly at 7:00pm. You may arrive as early as 6:15pm to be seated. If you wish to arrive earlier and wander the grounds prior to the concert\, please read the information boards and pay your $5 admission fee (separate from the event admission). \nCOST:  $20 in advance / $25 at the door  [NO REFUNDS. The rising FULL MOON will be seen around 7:20pm as it climbs up from the eastern horizon while we welcome it with awe. \n\nKinstone is excited to welcome Frank and Kathy from Temple Harmonics in Winona\, MN to offer their “Session in Sound” event during the rising of the FULL MOON!\nRelax to the sounds and vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls\, gongs\, Native American flutes\, and more. Bring your own chair\, reclining lawn chair\, blankets\, pillows\, or mats to get comfortable among the standings stones of the Great Stone Circle at Kinstone (*weather permitting)\nThe gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction. Gongs and singing bowls are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong or the bowl\, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs and bowls is about spiritual\, physical and emotional resolution. Bring something to protect yourself from any mosquitoes or other biting insects as they become more active after sunset!\nStargaze in the Stargazer Circle for a while before you leave! Can you find Jupiter and Saturn?\n\n*IMPORTANT:  This is a family friendly\, alcohol free\, smoke free event! \nSTUFF TO BRING: Bring your own chair\, reclining lawn chair\, blankets\, pillows\, or mats for your comfort. SUMMARY:Night Sky Viewing - August
DESCRIPTION:Calling all FAMILIES! STARGAZERS! NIGHT SKY AFICIONADOS! Come out to see the stars at Kinstone! Here is an outdoor experience offering connection with nature while gazing out into our cosmic neighborhood! \nJoin us for an informal\, and relatively independent night sky viewing at Kinstone! Bring your own binoculars\, your own telescope\, and your own star finding guides\, etc. We will spread out across the land and spend a couple of hours with our eyes to the sky. Think about downloading an app to your phone in advance of this event such as Google Sky Map or something similar that shows you what’s in the sky. We expect one or more amateur astronomers to join us from the La Crosse Area Astronomical Society (LCAAS) who will help guide us to identify and find various celestial wonders to view independently\, together. They may bring larger scopes which can be safely (all precautions will be taken) shared by many to view certain objects – especially the moon\, Saturn and Jupiter! Exciting! \nAstronomical Info For This Night \n\nSunset is at 7:58pm\nMoonset is at 10:17pm\, a waxing crescent moon!\nJupiter and Saturn will be bright and visible\nNeptune rises at 8:40pm – but it is difficult to see\n\nNote: if viewing is good\, we may stay late to see Mars rise at 10:14pm and Uranus rise at 10:30pm. We’ll play that by ear (or eye as the case may be!). \nCOST:  $5/person at the door\, cash only (Kids 12 and under are free) \nBring your own chair or blanket to sit or lie on for your comfort. Wear comfortable clothing and dress for the weather! Bring your own insect repellent if needed. Bring a flashlight – preferably one with a red or green light that is more conducive to stargazing activities. Park in designated parking areas – the preferred area is the grassy Riverview Parking Area near our main Education Building. Proceed to the area in front of the Porch on the Education Building. \nThe event will be cancelled in case of overcast or rainy weather. Cancellation notices will be posted here on this page as well as on the corresponding Facebook event page at least 1 hour before the scheduled start of the event.  \nNOTE:  We will host two more events like this!
