SUMMARY:Scones in the Stones
DESCRIPTION:Scones in the Stones\nGather together for conversation and community in the Great Stone Circle over coffee or tea and homemade scones.  Enjoy a guided tour led by Kristine Beck\, founder/creator of Kinstone. All are welcome. \nWe will begin at 8am with coffee\, scones and conversation followed by a guided tour at 9am which will focus on the Stone Circle\, Chapel of Creation\, and The Three Witnesses (time permitting). Participants are welcome to stay afterwards to wander Kinstone on their own.  We hope for a fine morning so we can be outdoors; however\, in case of rain we will move to the Visitor Center where we will enjoy this event indoors – including a virtual tour of Kinstone presented by Kristine Beck. \nDate: Tuesday\, July 15 \nTime: 8am – 10am \nCost:  $15 \nNo registration required. SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Sunrise Observance
DESCRIPTION:Kinstone + Connections = Kinections!\nAre you looking for more opportunities to deepen your connections to Nature\, self and others? Come witness the arrival of Summer\, connect with the seasons\, and share energies with the mystical\, magical landscapes of Kinstone. \n\nEvery Summer Solstice\, we stand and greet the sun as it enters the Great Stone Circle at sunrise. You are invited to join us as we recognize the passing of the seasons from Spring to Summer in this auspicious and sacred stone place. \nIf it is not raining we will gather at 5:00 am in the Great Stone Circle in time to share a very short ritual before we witness the rising of the sun – actual sunrise is at 5:23am but it is usually 5:30 before it visible in the stone circle. Feel free to arrive as early as 4:45am if you wish (that sounds sooooo early – but don’t go back to sleep!). \nGiven fair weather and a clear horizon\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and is ushered through the Summer Solstice Corridor into the circle. It will set its golden glow upon anyone standing in the middle of the circle. Further\, it will cast the shadow of those persons standing in the center onto the stone directly in the path of the sun – the “Shadow Stone”. \nFun fact: The Shadow Stone also marks the exact point of WINTER Solstice SUNSET\, i.e.  summer solstice sunrise and winter solstice sunset occur along the exact same line!  Truly magical! \nGiven cloudy weather\, we will not see the sunrise or our shadow\, but will greet the dawn of Summer ceremoniously regardless! This will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading. Feel free to bring a reading or quote to share. Witness the arrival of Summer. Send Spring on its way with blessings. \nCOST: admission to Kinstone (pay in advance online OR place your cash admission in the Blue Payment Box attached to the Information Sign Board near the parking areas); No Registration Required \nDate: Thursday\, June 20\, 2024 (rain date: June 21) \nTime: 5:00am – 6:00am \nThis event is outdoors. Please note that we will not see the alignment if it is cloudy or if the horizon is obstructed by morning mist\, fog\, rain\, or clouds. If it is raining or storming this event will be cancelled. Dress for the weather\, be prepared to walk on dewy\, wet grass paths; bring a blanket or camp chair if you wish for your comfort; wear appropriate footwear\, jackets\, scarves\, hats\, and even gloves if needed! Bring your own insect repellent if you wish! \nCancellation will occur in case of RAIN. Cancellations will be posted ONLY on THIS event page and on the corresponding Facebook event page no sooner than 4 hours and no later than 1 hour before the scheduled start time for this event. We will gather at this time of Midsummer to say farewell to Spring with a mystical\, magical\, musical send-off amidst the great circle of standing stones at Kinstone. \nExperience the incredible\, transformational sounds of Peter Phippen (bamboo flutes)\, Rahbi Crawford (singing bowls)\, Victoria Shoemaker (wooden and crystal flutes) and Brian Reidinger (percussion / drums) in this magical venue. They are master musicians who improvise and collaborate with great effect. Their blending of the sounds of flutes\, crystal singing bowls and percussion will get right into your heart and soul. \nIMPORTANT: This is a non-smoking\, alcohol free\, kid-friendly\, outdoor event. DESCRIPTION:Every Summer Solstice\, we stand and greet the sun as it enters the Great Stone Circle at sunrise. You are invited to join us as we recognize the passing of the seasons from Spring to Summer in this auspicious and sacred stone place. \nIf it is not raining we will gather at 5:15 am in the Great Stone Circle in time to witness the rising of the sun – actual sunrise is at 5:23am but it is usually 5:30 before it visible in the stone circle. Feel free to arrive as early as 5:00am if you wish. \nGiven fair weather and a clear horizon\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and is ushered through the Summer Solstice Corridor into the circle. It will set its golden glow upon anyone standing in the middle of the circle. Further\, it will cast the shadow of those persons standing in the center onto the stone directly in the path of the sun – the “Shadow Stone”.  Fun fact: This stone also marks the exact point of WINTER Solstice SUNSET\, i.e.  summer solstice sunrise and winter solstice sunset occur along the exact same line!  Truly magical! \nGiven cloudy weather\, we will not see the sunrise or the shadow\, but will greet the dawn of Summer ceremoniously regardless! This will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading. Feel free to bring a reading or quote to share. Witness the arrival of Summer. Summer begins with the Summer Solstice. We will gather at this time of Midsummer to say farewell to Spring with a mystical\, magical\, musical send-off amidst the great circle of standing stones at Kinstone. \nExperience the incredible\, transformational sounds of Peter Phippen (bamboo flutes)\, Rahbi Crawford (singing bowls)\, Victoria Shoemaker (wooden and crystal flutes) and Brian Reidinger (percussion / drums) in this magical venue. Join us as we greet Summer with a mystical\, magical\, musical welcome on Midsummer’s Eve amidst the great circle of standing stones at Kinstone. \nExperience the incredible\, transformational sounds of Peter Phippen and Rahbi Crawford in this magical venue. They are master musicians who improvise and collaborate with great effect. Their blending of the sounds of flutes and crystal singing bowls will get right into our hearts and souls. It may be quite a different kind of music than you are used to. It comes from India and largely consists of mantras or chants sung by a leader and then repeated by the audience. It’s a kind of sing-a-long. Many of the songs are sung in Sanskrit and are based on ancient chants. Since you do not know the words\, you can immerse yourself in the music and quiet your mind. SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Sunrise Observance
DESCRIPTION:Every Summer Solstice\, we stand and greet the sun as it enters the Kinstone Circle at sunrise. You are invited to join us as we recognize the passing of the seasons from Spring to Summer in this auspicious and sacred stone place. \nWe will gather at 5:15 am to be ready to witness the rising of the sun – actual sunrise is at 5:23am but it is usually 5:30 before it visible in the stone circle. Given fair weather and a clear horizon\, we will watch the sun as it crests the ridge and is ushered through the Summer Solstice Corridor into the circle. It will set its golden glow upon anyone standing in the middle of the circle. Further\, it will cast the shadow of those persons standing there onto the stone directly in the path of the sun. This stone happens to be the marker for the exact point of WINTER Solstice SUNSET!  Isn’t that fun fact!? This will be a quiet\, meditative event with a short opening rite and reading. Witness the arrival of Summer. Send Spring on its way with blessings. This gathering will last about 45 minutes. Although the actual sunrise is at 5:23am\, the topography of Kinstone means it will be just a little different. Be there early\, just in case! Feel free to arrive as early as 5:00am if you so wish. \nCOST: Free\, No Registration Required\, Family Friendly\, No Pets \nDate: Friday\, June 21\, 2019   Time: 5:15 am – 6:15am \nThis event is outdoors and will be held rain or shine. Please note that we will not see the alignment if it is cloudy or if the horizon is obstructed by morning mist\, fog\, rain\, or clouds. If it is raining or storming we shall gather indoors in the Kinstone Education Center. Dress for the weather\, be prepared for a dewy walk in grass; wear appropriate footwear\, scarves\, hats\, a blanket\, and even gloves if needed!
