Autumn Equinox is coming around again and it is time to make sacred music in keeping with the seasons once more. You are invited to this special concert to recognize and observe the return of the Autumn Equinox at Kinstone! We host seasonal intentional events that remind us to honor our home\, the Earth and to connect with the sun\, moon and stars in our larger\, universal home. Join us as we welcome Autumn with enchanting music and sacred sound! \nExperience an incredible soundscape created by world-class musicians Peter Phippen and Rahbi Crawford. Crawford is a force of flowing energy as she evokes ethereal sounds from crystal and metal singing bowls\, a gong\, and her hauntingly beautiful voice. Phippen elicits sacred music from ancient and modern flutes (wooden\, bamboo and stone). These master musicians improvise and collaborate with great effect. The blending of flutes and crystal singing bowls goes straight to  the hearts and uplifts our souls. Special guests Victoria Shoemaker (wooden and crystal flutes) and Brian Reidinger (hand drums/percussion) will also perform. \nThese four world class musicians will take us on a sound journey as we sit amidst the standing stones of Kinstone Circle. As always\, the musicians will join the breezes and the host of singing creatures living in and around the fields\, forests and waters of Kinstone. Sacred sound indeed. \nThis concert will begin at 5:30pm and go until 7:00pm – just prior to sunset.  All present may stay to watch the sunset and\, if the sun is strongly visible on the horizon\, we may all witness the Equinox Sunset Alignment at Kinstone. We hope for fair weather and clear skies! \nIMPORTANT: This is a non-smoking\, alcohol free\, kid-friendly event. \nDue to COVID\, if we are rained out we will NOT be able to move this event indoors. Therefore\, in case the concert is cancelled due to rain we will refund your ticket\, otherwise\, there are NO REFUNDS. Her sound healing training includes Levels I & II from Tama-Do\, Academy of Sound\, Color and Movement\, in the South of France. Besides her extensive musical skill and training\, Rahbi brings to her music her own emotional and spiritual depth. He studied piano for six years; from the age of nine\, and discovered the drums\, his lifelong passion\, at the age of eleven. For the past 24+ years\, he has been a founding partner\, and longtime Creative Director/Chief Composer/Producer at Minneapolis based\, In The Groove Music LLC ; crafting jingles\, scores\, and songs for television\, advertising\, news\, sports\, video games\, etc. In 2019\, he will  be finishing a solo project\, producing 34-tracks for Austin\, TX based Drew Davis\, and co-writing/producing a new World/Ambient collection with Peter Phippen and Victoria Shoemaker. Phippen\, Shoemaker and Raid represent a melting pot of three generations of cultural music.  Phippen is mentor to Shoemaker and Raid is mentor to Phippen. These three are passing along the spirit of the music through time and generations. True kin! Together they elicit music from ancient and modern flutes (wooden\, bamboo and crystal) and exotic instruments such as the berimbau and kannal\, as well as moyo drums\, frame drums and other percussion instruments. He received his BA and MFA degrees from the University of Minnesota\, and he taught basic design and painting at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire from 1967 to 2002. He has exhibited widely in the Midwest\, and has taken part in exhibitions in Boston\, New York City\, Toronto\, Stockholm\, and Tallinn\, Estonia. Past gallery affiliations include Suzanne Kohn Gallery\, St. Paul; Julia Schmidt Fine Arts\, New Orleans; Ann Nathan Gallery\, Chicago; and Thomas Barry Fine Arts\, Minneapolis. Tiit is a “found object percussionist”\, an expert at playing the berimbau and kannal\, and a master at the frame drum and moyo drum. He is a mentor to Phippen. \nRaid gifted Phippen a bamboo flute in March 1987 while teaching Phippen the finer points of improvisation\, which Raid and Phippen have been passing on to Shoemaker over the past five years. \n  \n \nThe ancient ones await this musical treat and your visit.
