DESCRIPTION:We have met the minimum and WILL hold this event.\nTickets may be purchased right up until the event on 12/16/23 now… join us!\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom The Sweet Dark\, Awaiting the Light\nWinter Tales with Storyteller\, Tracy Chipman\nCome! Let’s gather up to the ridge-land\, above the bright ribbon of the Great River\, in the company of the granite ancient ones at Kinstone with storyteller Tracy Chipman for a winter-tide storytelling. \nListen! Together with the dreaming land\, as the day ebbs and the year wanes\, we gather around the timeless\, healing fire. Winter was made for stories\, for speaking through the dark\, and remembering the sun and its light which seem so far from us in this season. Winter Solstice is on the horizon heralding the time when the sun rebounds and begins its journey back to us as the days get longer. \nHuman beings have been gathering for 20\,000+ years around hearth fires to tell and listen to stories of the mysteries of the world\, ancient and new. Much has changed\, and little has changed. Shall we gather\, too? Yes\, yes we shall! There is always time for and always a need for stories to be told. \nDate: Saturday\, December 16 \nTime: 2:00pm – 4:00pm  – please arrive at least 15 minutes early to get settled; storytelling will last until 3:30 or 3:45 and then we will share warm beverages and refreshments in the Education Center. \nLocation: Kinstone\, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane\, Fountain City\, WI 54629 – weather permitting\, we will be outdoors around the fire in the Stargazer Circle at Kinstone; if weather or snow conditions prevent an outdoor gathering\, we will meet inside the Kinstone Education Center. \nCOST:  $15/person \nNote: the cost to attend this event does not include general admission to Kinstone. If you wish to wander the Kinstone grounds before the event\, please arrive early and pay your separate admission fee at the Gift Shop. \nPre-registration is required! Seats are limited so get your ticket early! Important: once purchased\, there are No Refunds.  \nAlso\, note that a minimum number of participants is required to make this viable\, so please register early! \nIMPORTANT: This event will be held rain or shine! If weather is inclement we will meet inside the Kinstone Education Center. No refunds! \nWhat to bring: \n\nBring your own chair\, cushion\, or mat for sitting on if you desire (if we are outside)\, if we are inside we have plenty of chairs!\nBring an insulated mug with a hot beverage for around the fire\nDress very warmly! Layers\, wool socks\, boots\, mittens\, hats\, scarves\, snow pants\, etc… \nBring a blanket or shawl to keep you extra warm if needed\n\nNote: Tracy’s book\, Borealis Mundi\, is available at the Kinstone Gift Shop – pick up a copy while you are here! \n\nAbout Tracy Chipman \nTracy Chipman is a storyteller\, somatics/yoga instructor\, mentor and writer. She is a Wisconsin native who has traveled far and wide\, and now resides in northern Wisconsin\, occupying the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe peoples. She has been a storyteller for more than 27 years. In March 2023 Tracy published her first book\, Borealis Mundi – Resting in Place\, Loss & Grace. Tracy weaves the ancient art of oral storytelling with writing and somatic practices to create unforgettable experiences inviting us towards more embodied experiences with the living\, animate world.
