December Theme: The Heroine’s Journey: I am the one I’ve been waiting for
Astrology: Sagittarius (Fire sign). Keywords: Expansive, adventurous, visionary, enthusiastic, open-minded, freedom-loving, independent, philosophical, search for wisdom.
Thoughts from our Global Sisterhood leaders for this month:
“Sister, have you ever felt incomplete or not enough? Have you ever found yourself waiting for another to see you so you can truly see yourself? What about waiting for someone to come and rescue or complete you? Have you ever felt that there is some place far off in the distance that you must get to in order to relax and fully enjoy who you are?
We tend to forget that we, as women, are channels of divine nectar, the sweet source from which all life is born. We are the beginning and the end. Life begins with a woman gestating and giving birth, and it ends with us returning our bodies to Mother Earth. We are made in her image, and we hold her power, truth, and wholeness within us. This is the great mystery and secret that all hero’s go seeking — oneness with the source of all life — so that the hero can channel the power, wisdom, and grace of the universe to help him support the ones he cares for most.
As women, we hold the profound secret of life, creation, and oneness within us, but we forget. We forget because we’ve inherited through our ancestral lines, thousands of years of conditioning that women’s power is insignificant in relation to men’s. This, however, is the biggest misunderstanding and distortion of humanities history. This illusion has caused generations of harm for both men and women. There are various effects resulting from this cause. One of which is that women were taught that we need to “prove” ourselves worthy of love, pleasure, safety, loyalty and adoration. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We are love, and we are the answer to all the emptiness and confusion that may present itself in and around us.
We are the answer we have been waiting for. We are the wise eyes to see and we are the medicine our world needs.
For this New Moon in Sagittarius, we will remember that we are the heroines, and our journey is both an inward journey and an outward journey of remembrance. You are already whole. You are the one you have been waiting for.”
Thoughts about the Saggitarius Astrological Forecast:
“You may notice situations where you feel yourself giving your power away to be seen, appreciated, or liked. This is the perfect opportunity to turn inward and practice deeply seeing and loving yourself. This is the time to consciously consider what stories you or others might hold of you that seem old and perhaps untrue. You are invited to practice releasing these old beliefs about who you are or how you show up in your family or community, and begin living in honor of your truth and authentic expression. Who are you? Who do you choose to be? You no longer need to feel restricted to the limitations of what you or others have always thought about you. It’s time now to turn inward and go on the deep and enriching journey of feeling into your authentic soul essence. Feel into your truth and all the emotions present. Do not run or hide from what is inside of you. The adventure inward will transform your outward reality. As we end this historical year of 2020, you get to decide who you will be moving forward. As 2020 has shown, a new era is upon us. Old rules are thrown out. It’s time to let go of old stereotypes and pressures, and courageously follow the heroine’s journey of listening to your inner wisdom and showing up according to your authentic truth.”
Reflection prompts:
- When you deepen your breath and close your eyes, can you feel a sense of wholeness and wellbeing? If not, where do you feel a sense of incompletion?
- How do you fill yourself with love and a sense of wholeness? What makes you feel complete?
- What does it feel like in your body to embrace that you are infinitely powerful and that all the answers are within you?
- What part of your life do you have the most disempowering story around? What emotions are lingering around that story that may be holding you back from transforming it into an empowering one?
- What parts of your story have you shied away from owning? What gifts do you suspect lie in wait there for you to claim? How might these gifts affect and influence your service in the world?
Discussion Questions:
- What stories or beliefs are you releasing that make you feel like something is lacking in your life? What inner stories or beliefs keep you from feeling whole in the present moment.
- Please share about your journey as a heroine in your own life. What was something invaluable that you have learned about being a human being?
- Do you live life on your own terms or do you schedule your time and activities based on what you think you should be doing? Do you take time to refill your cup and connect with yourself deeply. If so, how?
- When you catch yourself speaking negatively about your life, your body, or your capabilities, what do you do? Share any tips and tricks with your sisters.
- Name something troubling you in your life right now, large or small. What story would you tell about this challenging situation, as if you really were the main character in a children’s book?
- What expertise do you have from simply living life and learning through your heroine’s journey? How can you apply this expertise to teach, heal, impact, or lead?
Visualizations to add into the Heart Meditation for this December New Moon:
- Envision every little girl being raised knowing that she has the ability to heal herself through using her voice. She is the heroine of her own story, and she can touch her community by sharing her story and her gifts.
- Feel the impact of every girl and every woman seeing themselves as heroines, as we collectively break patterns of victimization and codependency, and shift towards a deep sense of empowerment.
- Imagine each woman confidently sharing her story, her wisdom, and the lessons of her life.
- Envision girls growing up hearing these true stories of feminine empowerment and believing that no matter what unfolds in their lives, they can heal, rise, and change the world.
- Feel deep peace and unity soothing our world as we all relax into deeply trusting the divine power within ourselves. Feel the infinite power of what is possible when we own our stories and choose to share them.
- Envision yourself and every woman around the world feeling playful, adventurous, emboldened, and courageous as we become the authors of our own lives and align with our most empowered selves.
- In this moment, feel yourself rooted in the knowing that you have everything you need to imagine and create a life of love, confidence, and service for yourself and your loved ones.
- Bring this intention into your heart, surrounding it with light and love.
- With a deep breath, imagine sending it into the earth below, like a seed being planted. Feel it blossoming.
- Bring your hands to your heart and feel your heartbeat. Take a deep breath and gently open your eyes.
CLOSING POEM (provided by Global Sisterhood):
“I am the daughter.
I am the warrior,
The temptress, the mother, the whore.
I am a survivor, a friend, a lover, a child.
I lead, I follow, I fall, and I rise
Oh how I rise,
And rise again,
Like the sun that eternally awakens us from slumber.
Thank you Sun.
Thank you fire that burns in my soul.
Oh my soul!
This world has painted me a thousands faces,
But which face will I choose as mine?
Today, I choose to be woman,
Everything that is encompassed in the mystery that is She.
I am woman.
I am the Heroine,
My life is my great adventure.”
