Kinstone is a very unique and beautiful place. It is sought after as a wedding venue and a place to take special photographs. It has been rented for family gatherings, corporate meetings, team meetings, small group retreat days, and other events.  If you are interested in renting Kinstone or obtaining a photography permit, read through this information and then send us an inquiry via email through our Contact Us form. Rental Information

Rental Information for Weddings

Rental type: Wedding – Ceremony Only

Rental Rate: $400 standard charge, plus $50/hour  (Minimum rental is 2 hours for a total of $500, Maximum rental is 30 hours for a total of $1900)

Total Rental Time:  2 hours minimum, actual duration to be determined specific to each event
IMPORTANT: The Total Rental Time shall include ALL time that Kinstone property is in use for the entire event, from the start of decorating right through the ceremony and until the completion of cleanup. As soon as decorating begins, the hourly rate begins to apply and it continues to apply until the last cleanup is completed and everyone has departed the premises. For example, if you start decorating at 6pm the night before and the wedding occurs at 3pm the following day and cleanup ends and all persons depart by 6pm, the total number of hours will be 24 at a rate of $50/hour which adds up to $1200. Keep this in mind when planning.

Max Participants: 75  (this number INCLUDES the wedding party, officiant, photographer, and all guests)

Amenities Included in the Rental:

  • rental of the Education Center, Kinstone Stone Circle, Kinstone Chapel of Creation or other designated area for the wedding ceremony only with use of the Education Center as a changing / preparation area, back up space for the ceremony in case of rain, and/or primary space for the ceremony
  • parking in the Visitor Parking areas
  • *limited use of outdoor, open spaces and features including the labyrinth, dolmen, small stone circle(s), pergola, and grass/lawn areas
  • *limited use of specialty structures including the large Stone Circle, Chapel of Creation, The Dragon’s Keep, and The Three Witnesses sculpture
  • *limited use of the Education Center:
    • the porch area with 3 picnic tables, porch chairs and swings
    • the classroom (including tables and chairs) to be used only as a changing and preparation area and/or a space for the ceremony
    • space in a designated refrigerator for the wedding party to keep any snacks and beverage items cold
    • one unisex bathroom in the classroom
  • use of outdoor portable toilets that are available May through October (usually there are 2 available, if additional facilities are required, the Renter is responsible to make arrangements for them at their sole cost)

Important Notes:

*Limited use means non-exclusive use. No other group shall be allowed to rent Kinstone during the same timeframe as this event; however, at all times Kinstone shall remain open to the public during its standard open hours. Signs will be posted to ensure that any visitors are aware of the wedding event and directing them to respect reasonable boundaries for obvious event activities. The bridal party and participants in this wedding event must be mindful of all visitors that may be at Kinstone during this event and remember that such visitors may wish to experience the spaces the group may be occupying. Flexibility and mindful scheduling are appreciated.

*Renter is responsible for any items they may need, this includes but may not be limited to:

  • decorations that meet the requirements to be documented in the final rental agreement
  • snack foods and beverages, including coffee and tea
  • cooking utensils, cookware, paper towels, towels and dishcloths, dish detergent, etc
  • table cloths and all eating utensils, plates, cups, napkins, etc.
  • technology such as laptop computer, sound systems, etc

The rest of the property is NOT available as part of this rental, this is emphasized by specific areas listed below: this list includes, but may not be limited to the following areas:

  • The utility shed, straw-clay cabin, animal buildings, and campground area (including the yurt, tent platforms, sauna, and solar shower/outdoor toilet facilities) are NOT part of this rental.
  • All cupboards and drawers and the contents of all cupboards and drawers in the coffee counter area, kitchen area, and throughout the Education Center are NOT part of this rental.
  • The coffee counter area (including the microwave oven, electric water pot and drip coffee maker) is NOT part of this rental
  • The kitchen, all kitchen counter space, stoves/ovens, and other appliances are NOT part of this rental
  • The office, retail store area, library, and storage areas inside the Education Center are NOT part of this rental and library books may NOT be removed from the library area.

Rental type: Wedding – Ceremony & Reception

Rental Rate: $500 standard charge, plus $50/hour  (Minimum rental is 4 hours for a total of $700, Maximum rental is 30 hours for a total of $2000)

Total Rental Time:  4 hours minimum, actual duration to be determined specific to each event, 30 hours maximum
IMPORTANT: The Total Rental Time shall include ALL time that Kinstone property is in use for the entire event, from the start of decorating right through the ceremony and until the completion of cleanup. *Renter is responsible for any items they may need, this includes but may not be limited to:

  • decorations that meet the requirements to be documented in the final rental agreement

  • table cloths and all eating utensils, plates, cups, napkins, etc.

Rental Information for Gatherings, Corporate Meetings, and Other Events

Rental type:  Education Center Classroom Only

Rental Rate: $30/hour

Amenities Included in the Rental:

  • parking in the Event Parking Area
  • limited use of the Education Center building:
    • the classroom (includes tables, metal folding chairs, floor space to be used for art projects, yoga, small groups, etc)
    • the overhead projector and whiteboard
    • the coffee counter area where refreshments may be set up (Note that the kitchen is NOT included in this rental and only limited access to obtain water and access to the sink is allowed.)
    • the porch area with 3 picnic tables and porch chairs and swings
    • one unisex bathroom in the classroom
    • use of outdoor portable toilets that are available May through October

Important Notes:

*Limited use means non-exclusive use. No other group shall be allowed to rent the Education Center during the same timeframe as this event; however, at all times Kinstone shall remain open to the public during its standard open hours. Signs will be posted to ensure that any visitors are aware of the event and directing them to avoid the rented area.

Participants in your event must pay admission to Kinstone if they wish to spend time at Kinstone outside of the Education Center Classroom rental as stated above. The rest of the property is NOT available as part of this rental, this is emphasized by specific areas listed below: this list includes, but may not be limited to the following areas:

  • All outdoor spaces and all specialty structures including, but not limited to, the Labyrinth, Dolmen, Circle of Mystery, The Three Witnesses sculpture, Dragon’s Keep and Chapel of Creation are NOT part of this rental.
  • The utility shed, straw-clay cabin, animal buildings, and campground area (including the yurt, tent platforms, sauna, and solar shower/outdoor toilet facilities) are NOT part of this rental.
  • The kitchen (including all appliances, cupboards and drawers and the contents of all appliances, cupboards, and drawers), office, retail store area, library, and storage areas inside the Education Center are NOT part of this rental and library books may NOT be removed from the library area.

Rental type: Outdoor Space + Education Center Classroom & Kitchen

Rental Rate: $40/hour PLUS $5/person attending, including any instructors or leaders

Amenities Included in the Rental:

  • parking in the Visitor Parking areas
  • *limited use of outdoor, open spaces and features including the labyrinth, dolmen, stone circle(s), pergola, and grass/lawn areas
  • *limited use of specialty structures including The Three Witnesses sculpture, Dragon’s Keep and Chapel of Creation
  • *limited use of the Education Center building:
    • the porch area with 3 picnic tables, porch chairs and swings
    • the classroom (tables, chairs, floor space can be used for art projects, yoga, small groups, etc)
    • the overhead projector and whiteboard
    • the coffee counter area where refreshments may be set up, including the microwave oven, electric water pot and drip coffee maker
    • the kitchen counter space and stoves/ovens (to be used for basic food preparation / coffee / tea / snacks and for cooking demonstrations but cannot be used to prepare food for sale)
    • space in one refrigerator for attendees to keep food items cold (i.e. beverages, lunch items, etc).
    • one unisex bathroom in the classroom
    • use of outdoor portable toilets that are available May through October

Important Notes:

*Limited use means non-exclusive use. No other group shall be allowed to rent Kinstone during the same timeframe as this event; however, at all times Kinstone shall remain open to the public during its standard open hours. Signs will be posted to ensure that any visitors are aware of the event and directing them to respect reasonable boundaries for obvious event activities. Leaders and participants in this event must be mindful of all visitors that may be at Kinstone during this event and remember that such visitors may wish to experience the spaces the group may be occupying. Flexibility and mindful scheduling are appreciated.

*Renter must bring their own beverages, refreshments, food, and snacks, including tea, coffee, etc.

*Renter must bring their own cooking utensils, cookware, paper towels, towels and dishcloths, etc

*Renter must bring their own table cloths and all eating utensils, plates, cups, napkins, etc.

*Renter must bring their own whiteboard markers, flipchart paper and any other display items they may require

The rest of the property is NOT available as part of this rental, this is emphasized by specific areas listed below: this list includes, but may not be limited to the following areas:

  • The utility shed, straw-clay cabin, animal buildings, and campground area (including the yurt, tent platforms, sauna, and solar shower/outdoor toilet facilities) are NOT part of this rental.
  • All cupboards and drawers and the contents of all cupboards and drawers in the coffee counter area, kitchen area, and throughout the Education Center are NOT part of this rental.

Photography Permits

Photography Permit Type: Formal and/or Informal Photo Sessions (Professional and/or Amateur)

Any time an amateur or professional photographer wishes to hold a photo session of a person, group of persons, or other session at Kinstone for any reason, a permit is required.

Permit Fee: fees vary depending upon the requirements of the photographer; permits start at $50/4 hour session

Photography Permit Type: Commercial Photography

Permit Fee: fees vary depending upon the requirements of the photographer(s) or agency; commercial photography permits start at $300/day

A site fee is charged for commercial photography at Kinstone. Advance permission is required and arranged through the Kinstone office. Site fees and photography permit fees are negotiated in advance. Commercial photography permit fees start at a minimum of $300/day. At this time, Kinstone does not endorse products or services and any photographs that imply endorsement are prohibited. NOTE: All commercial photography requires a certificate of insurance to be provided prior to the proposed photo shoot. Applicants must file a certificate of insurance in the amount of $250,000/$750,000 for bodily injury – $300,000 property damage with Kinstone as an additional named insured for the time associated with the session(s).

Permit Fee: fees vary depending upon the requirements of the photographer; drone photography permits start at $100/day

A site fee is charged for drone photography at Kinstone. Advance permission is required and arranged through the Kinstone office. Site fees and photography permit fees are negotiated in advance. Rules/Policies

Every event held at Kinstone shall be governed by a rental agreement that includes specific rules, policies and procedures that the renter must adhere to. The agreement shall be reviewed and signed by the renter (i.e. the client) prior to reserving any calendar date. At the time the agreement is finalized and signed, a 30% non-refundable deposit of the estimated total rental fee will be required to hold the date.

The following statement is a general summary of client responsibilities. It is not intended to be comprehensive. At all times, the final Rental Agreement signed by the Client shall govern the responsibilities of the Client in regards to renting Kinstone as a venue.

The Client is responsible for all setup, cleanup and to ensure that participants are behaving appropriately throughout the event and taking proper care in the use of the premises. The Client is responsible to ensure that all areas of Kinstone, indoors and outdoors, used by participants are returned to as good or better condition than before the event started. The Client is responsible for the rental of any desired decorations, tables, chairs, dishes, flatware, beverage glasses and cups, linens, and any other miscellaneous items. The Client is responsible for the rental of any desired equipment such as sound systems, portable toilets, tents, kitchen utensils, food serving appliances and any other equipment. The Client is responsible to provide at least one parking attendant in each parking area to direct drivers to designated parking places throughout the event. The Client is responsible to ensure that all participants vacate the premises prior to the end of the rented timeframe. The Client is responsible to ensure that all trash is removed from the property immediately following the event. The Client is responsible to sweep the floor, wash tables, set up or take down chairs and return the Education Center to the same configuration as it was before the event. The Client understands that Kinstone remains open to the public during normal business hours regardless if the event occurs within or overlapping those hours. Kinstone is not responsible for any rented items, including any items left on the property prior to, or following any event.
