Betwixt, Between, and Beyond – Writing with the Ancestors
A Writing Workshop with Storyteller & Author, Tracy Chipman
On the Full Hunter’s Moon

Join us for this special writer’s workshop with Storyteller and Author Tracy Chipman at Kinstone. This workshop offers a way for us to explore relationships with ancestors and the more-than-human worlds in the liminal space on the threshold of Samhain. Participants will engage in writing as well as walking, meditation, reflection, gentle embodiment practices, and sharing.

What will you find in the spaces betwixt, between and beyond yourself when you put your pen to paper here at Kinstone on the Full Hunter’s Moon?  A walk amidst the standing stones of the Great Stone Circle, winding your way along the Serpent of Transformation, or sheltering your soul in the chamber of the Kinstone Dolmen for a spell may be just what is needed to inspire and elicit your written words for the day. Come with your pen and paper, an open heart, and a willingness to step forward through thresholds open only to you at this time and in this place. No writing or meditation experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome.

Samhain is an ancient Celtic tradition celebrating the end of the old year – the sowing, growing and harvesting is complete, and the new year opens into the dreamtime of winter.  It is also believed that during the threshold of Samhain the boundaries between the physical world and the spirit world dissolve to some degree, allowing (often unexpected) interactions between humans and the denizens of realms beyond our own. Samhain energies offer deeper connections, inviting us to step forward into a new season and a new relationship with ourselves and all beings – both visible and invisible – that inhabit our lives. We are kin.
