thabiso - KinstoneThabiso Rowan grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and spent his youth listening to the polyrhythmic sounds and music of his mother’s home country, Lesotho. At age 11, Thabiso joined a jazz ensemble while learning to play the bass guitar. Since he started his musical journey, he has added the guitar and banjo to his family of instruments. In 2011 Thabiso sustained a spinal cord injury, causing him to have paralyses from the belly button down. Thabiso means “bringer of happiness” in his mother’s native language. He continues his life by embodying the essence of his name and spreading joy and happiness.
