The Circle of Mystery was designed and created by Kristine Beck in November 2012, and is her third stone circle. It has 12 natural and/or quarried boulders from various granite quarries – but most are from Rockville, MN and St. Cloud, MN. This is a much smaller and more intimate ring of stones than the Great Stone Circle and the Stargazer Circle. A 10,000-lb forklift was used to bring each stone down the steep hill, driving backwards, very slowly.
Find “The Query Stone”, a piece of ancient Morton Gneiss from Morton, MN with a natural question mark in it. That question mark gives the stone (and the circle) its name. Some might see a natural exclamation point there, too. Look for it in the center, far left face of the stone. These marks symbolize expression.
One of the stones in this circle is from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. It was already in the Coldspring Charcoal quarry in St. Cloud, MN when Kristine found it. It holds the distinction of being the stone from farthest away.
This circle is an intimate, contemplative space where you can spend time pondering the questions of life and figuring out ways to express your thoughts and reflect upon any insights that come to you.
