kinstone hero 4 - Kinstone

There are over 120 standing stones plus over 80 more boulders all placed intentionally at Kinstone. Some are part of larger settings and others are solitary.

The tallest standing stone at Kinstone is “Venus” which is located at the east corner of the property and is an amazing 31.5 feet long! She was raised to standing and placed in an 8′ deep socket making her reach 23.5′ out of the ground. The heaviest standing stone at Kinstone is “Atlas”; he stands with Lancelot between the pond and the Chapel and weighs 35 tons! There are 19 standing stones in the outer ring of the Great Stone Circle… the heaviest one there is 52,000 lbs and three of these stones reach 20 feet out of the ground!

Other standing stones may be part of the Dolmen, Three Witnesses, the Circle of Mystery, the Serpent, the Family and the Traveler, and other major features at Kinstone plus Cosmos, The Energy Stones, The Anchor Stone, The Watcher, the Monks, The Borderlands, The Angels, Grace and the Hedgehog, the Summer Solstice Corridor Stones, The Signal Hill Stones, the Inner and Outer Guardian Stones, and others. You can find all of these by following the map available at the Kinstone Visitor Center.

Over 185 granite, gneiss, and tillite pieces weighing over 148,000 tons collectively, including standing stones as well as smaller boulders – ranging individually from 300lbs to 70,000lbs, have been brought to Kinstone by Kristine Beck since October 2011 (noted as of June 2018). Other limestone pieces came directly from the land or from the Bork Quarry or the Biesanz Stone Quarry in the local area. Additionally, there were nearly 200 tons of local limestone from the Bork Quarry incorporated into The Three Witnesses dry-stack sculpture when it was built in 2014 and when maintenance was done on the sculpture in 2024. When asked if this is it, Kristine says she is not sure… there could always be more!
